About Me

My boyfriend (Miguel) and I just traveled here from Canada and we'd like to stay here for a year to travel, work and make some friends! We left our jobs, friends, family, and pets to make the most out of this trip. I personally wanted to learn what it's like to be on my own and I hope to make some personal growth whereas my boyfriend just would like to have some laughs and a good time. Miguel and I are the very definition of opposites attract, he pushes me to try new things and get out of my comfort zone whereas I keep him grounded and plan everything out. We are both very friendly and easygoing people, we're the kind of couple that doesn't make it weird to third wheel!

We've always wanted to travel and since we were both in jobs we didn't like it was easy to leave. I worked in retail as a sales associate where I sold phones and other tech products and my boyfriend was an electrical apprentice working on residential houses. It's nice to take the time off of work to have a chance to figure out what we really want to do as a career unless travelling is really as addicting as everyone says it is.

Right now we have been spending a week in each city while staying in Airbnb's and it's getting expensive and I feel like there's more to see then the tourist spots I find on the internet and there's lots of amazing people out there I have yet to meet.

We're really just here to have the best times of our lives, we think there's so much more to this life than working to pay bills. We're only here once so might as well make the most of it. I believe there's nothing more important than happiness, you should never sacrifice it for anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

An affordable way to travel and an excellent way to meet and make new friends! Also would love to experience more than just the typical touristy parts of the city.

Interests

I like to go out and do adventurous and memorable things but also come home and have a quiet night of reading so I can always be expanding my knowledge. I like to go on beautiful and peaceful hikes but also love to go out for drinks and dance.

Miguel is huge into the car scene, he loves to talk about the mechanics of cars and loves to go fast. He's got cars at home that he misses driving and since the roads are all flipped here he's not comfortable driving any cars here yet. He also likes biking fast or in trails, whereas I'm more of just a causal biker. It'd be really nice if someone else could do the extreme sports stuff with him so I don't have to because it scares me! I'm willing to conquer my fears but I just can't keep up with him.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moved here!! It's the scariest but most amazing thing to just leave everything that is comfortable and move to the other side of the world where everything is unknown.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a little about health and fitness as I'm always reading into it! My boyfriend can tell you anything you'd want to know about cars.

I'd love to learn to surf or scuba dive, I have no experience doing either. I have some experience indoor rock climbing but I always thought it would be cool to do it outside. I also would love to learn about online business, I'd like to start my own and if you have been successful with one please teach me everything!
Both Miguel and I love to learn just about anything because the best way to be is to "be like a sponge and absorb everything." - something he told me once when I was scared to try something new.
I'd love to add more to my list of things I can teach if we can just help me learn them!
We can share experiences together :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

We would be very thankful for anyone that hosted us so we'd make sure to share anything we can from knowledge, food, drinks, time, cleaning duties, house supplies, you name it.
