About Me
Kia Ora
Welcome to my average profile.
I'm just a keen bean looking for new places to get lost in and new people to get lost with.
I was born in China but grew up in New Zealand but now, have recently moved to Tokyo, Japan to become an assistant english teacher. This role like many things I do is completely out of my comfort zone as I had no previous experience, or the ability to speak the native language. I have previously studied abroad in Germany and couldn't speak German as well. I think it's something everyone should desire; the drive to be challenged by the world and do what excites you.
Having worked around 5+ years in hospitality and some obscure jobs including membership consultant at a gym, A/C cleaning, berry picking, childcare and other voluntary roles. I've met so many diverse people with different backgrounds and stories so I want to continue to build these connections while I travel.
I've been told that I am bubbly, social, adventurous "go-getter" who stretches themselves too thin. I want to be out there seeking new inspiration whether it be from busy streets of a capital city to the wild flowers that grow on mountains. I love to explore everything from new bars and new buildings to admire to new hiking tracks or rock climbing paths.
I'm looking forward to meeting heaps of likeminded people over time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's a new experience that connects likeminded travellers with one another who share common interests, goals and ethics perhaps? I like the idea that it bridges travellers to locals who can offer first hand experiences and recommendations that you wouldn't get otherwise.
I think Couchsurfing is an awesome network to support and to pay it forward for those who end up in your neighbourhood in the future.
I have't had any experiences thus far but looking to build on that!
Interests
Travelling, photography, opshopping, meeting new people from all different backgrounds, languages, eating and drinking, late nights, seeing a sunrise or sunset from new places, sewing, art, crafts etc.
I adopt a new passion in sport quite often, I took up rock climbing earlier this year and I have been very passionate about it, I would like to continue running and eventually run a marathon next year. I'm currently training at golds gym for exercise

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Despite having lived in New Zealand for most of my life, I got progressively envious of travellers who have seen more of the country than I have! I brought a van and converted it into a campervan early 2017 and travelled on many road trips exploring all of New Zealand. I see why people fall in love with NZ so quickly!
