Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Lots of free hugging.... I've hosted TONS of people on a super special couch in Sonoma County, California. I've gone to local meet-ups and try to hang out with the Sonoma County CouchSurfers when I can. I've done a lot of partying/exploring/hugging with couchsurfers in Munich (when I lived there), and flew to France to participate in the Paris Rendezvous 2007! And in almost every case there seems to have been little apprehension in meeting the couchsurfers... I've experienced very little need for "breaking the ice". To quote my friend Josh, "couch surfing... old friends you just haven't met". Now, why can't the rest of the world pick up on such a mindset?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I feel like I highlighted a lot of it above. I joined in 2007 and CS was my go-to source for new friends and adventures while living in Europe. When I returned to the States I hosted as much as possible, met up with local groups whenever I could, and always made sure to 'friend' and vouch for my long time friends whenever they ran of to other countries. I don't surf or host as much these days because I live way out in the forest, but it's still a great conversation starter and it's the consistent piece of advice I give to anyone who's looking to travel.
Interests
I'm interested in... well, everything. I have numerous interests in a plethora of areas and I want to pursue them all. Sometimes I'm overwhelmed with all the opportunities presented in my life every day. "where do I begin!!!???"
But for the most part, I'm interested in 'healthy' things. On all levels.
- concerts
- partying
- traveling
- surfing
Music, Movies, and Books
I dislike TV but I'll watch the occasional movie.
I am a book-aholic, reading anything from Deepak Chopra to Tom Robbins, finance literature to comic books. Sometimes I'll even be reading 4 or 5 books at a time. I need different ones for different moods.
And music... ha... music keeps my blood pumping. Music is my ... everything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen some amazing sunsets. They're simple, but definitely a cause for a pause.
I've also been to a lot of concerts, most of which have blown my mind or made me feel 'connected'.
Oh, and one time I hiked huyana picchu barefoot.
Jumped out of a perfectly good plane and lived to talk about it.
Fell in deep, exponential forever-love with the man of my dreams.
