Overview
About Me
I live on LANA'I ..... NOT MAUI! (They are 2 different islands) So before messaging me please research where I live.
Check this article out to get a little bit of understanding of this island/town: http://www.unrealhawaii.com/2015/10/a-weekend-in-lanai/
Me: New England Yankee, Red Sox fan, Deadhead, Phish head, existentialist, socialist, Disc Golfer, love being on the water but I don't own a boat so I am a frustrated boater. Also, I work a lot. Long weekday hours but they are flexible hours. So you need to be somewhat independent. My home is open to you throughout the day, but I am unavailable to show you around during the week days. I eat healthy but do eat meat and all kinds of foods. 420 friendly.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I live on a tiny Hawaiian Island called Lana'i where we all know each other, but I like meeting new people and sharing this little gem of a place with others. I like seeing the island through a new comers eyes because it helps refresh my love of this place.
Also, I would like to do more traveling and prefer to do so in a natural way by staying with locals (not in hotels) in order to absorb the true essence of a place. When I was young I was an exchange student in Spain and lived with a family for a few weeks, and I then discovered that was the best way to experience a place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one? Ok... moved 6000 miles away from all my friends and family and made a life for myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
I feel shame that I have to even say this but due to past CSer's I have to; I would hope that you understand that no matter how nice, kind, and clean you are... you are causing some disruption to a hosts life and getting a FREE PLACE TO STAY. Please consider offering some kind reciprocated kindness in some tangible way. I would never think to stay in someone's home and not offering to take them out for dinner, leave a gift, or helping them to complete some sort of task/project in appreciation for the kindness of them opening their doors to me and I expect others to have the same kind of gestures of gratitude.
Live by the 'Golden Rule' and you will always be on a righteous path in life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Humor, kindness, politeness, I can talk story all day night about just about anything.
I am not much of a cook but I can.
I am a hard worker, therefore I can offer you and your family support around the house.
If you have questions about the health care system or insurance coverage, I can probably help you with that.
I am trained in various psychology topics such as trauma-informed care, behavior modification, applied behavioral analysis, cognitive behavioral analysis, family preservation and reunification, structural family therapy, etc.
