About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to make the world my home, to have friends everywhere, and to understand the cultures through the perspective of locals.

ABOUT ME

Going with the flow is my motto. I love to socialize, try new things, learn new cultures, and eat delicious food! I am a passionate, adventurous Canadian girl who wears her heart on her sleeve and a smile on her face. I make the most of what life has to offer, and try to never let a moment pass me by.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't want to wake up one day saying "I wish I had...", so I take every opportunity I get to live life in the now and to experience as many things as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Teaching is my passion. I love to inspire people and I love to see that desire to learn in their eyes. I also don't want to bore my students with tedious facts, so instead, I travel the world and create my own stories that I can pass on to my students.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch surfing is very new to me. My friend and travel partner is the one who introduced me to it. I know that she used to have many couch surfers at her place in Montreal. It was always nice to meet new people and to find out about their stories.
Now it's our turn, and so far, I am amazed at what a life-changing experience couch surfing can be. I mean, to be in a new country with locals, who quickly become friends, is like making the entire world your home.

Interests

Soooo many interests! But here are a few~
Food: I love to learn about new foods from all of the countries that I visit. I am not afraid to try cuisine that I am not accustomed to, and I always try to convince my travel partner to do the same! .
Festivals: festivals just have a certain kind of energy that makes people happy. I love meeting new people and discovering new bands, especially the local ones.
Parkour, yoga, crossfit: I LOVE staying active. Finding new ways to do so has become a passion of mine.
Scrap booking: my best friend often makes fun of me for this, but I can't help it, I love taking parts of my life and making it into one big memory bank. (And secretly, I know my best friend loves these)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: music helps me survive. It's the best way to escape a hard day or to set happy vibes. I'm into all sorts of music, and I love discovering new stuff while I travel.

Guilty pleasures:
Game of Thrones- I just LOVE this series.

Reading :Reading is one of my favourite ways to escape and relax. It's one of my favourite ways to get inspired. In fact, traveling the world was inspired by reading "The Lost Girls"
The Lost Girls
The Kite Runner
Malcolm Gladwell (The Tipping Point, What the Dog Saw, Blink, Outliers)
The life of Pi
V.C Andrews novels

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't name just one...

Skydiving in Canada, zip lining through forests in Quebec and jungles in Thailand, surfing the waves of Bali, hiking a volcano in Ubud, swimming in the Infiniti pool at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, scuba diving in Indonesia, eating Lizard in Vietnam, cruising Halong Bay, experiencing a traditional Christmas in Denmark, watching New Year's Eve fireworks in Denmark, riding a motorbike for 9 straight hours in South Korea (in November), visiting the North Korean border, hanging out with locals in Japan, biking along the water in Taiwan.

Teach, Learn, Share

Language is such an exciting thing to me. I am so passionate about communication and how people interact with one another. As an English teacher, and a traveller, I know just how important English can be if you want to travel or meet different people from around the world. I want to pass that knowledge on and inspire and encourage people to learn.
