Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

CouchSurfing.org is an amazing alternative to conventional travel lodging, which costs money and greatly hinders one's ability to communicate with the people that live in a certain area. I joined this community with the intent to make the lives of other travelers easier (and to get to know them!) and to find other friendly people that might be willing to let me stay at their place!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I learned about couch surfing through my really good friend Avishay. During the time I spent with him when he lived in New Hampshire I met five people he hosted on his couch. They were all incredibly interesting, charismatic, and fun! A few of my other friends host surfers and use the social network to look for couches when traveling. I just hosted a young lady from DC for a week while she campaigned for the midterm elections. I'd like to host more surfers and hope that someone will return the favor for me when I need a couch!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've lived in New England my entire life so far. I love hiking in the White Mountains in NH, especially in prime-time foliage season. Boston is a great college city with so many interesting cultural events. I've frequented the sea coast every summer, and no, the water is never warm, but the scenery is breath-taking. I love New England, but I want to see more of the world, too!

Teach, Learn, Share

I plan on returning to school to pursue a communications/media/journalism degree. I love reading the news and following trends and new ideas. I'm constantly trying to learn knew things every day. Even though I have yet to travel all around the world, I love to talk about the goings-on across the planet. I also love to try new things, whether it be food, sports, any sort of hobby. This is why I'm so interested in couch surfing. I want to be able to converse and have fun with other people from other places.
