About Me
((Currently travelling and not in Hokkaido))
Hello I'm Jessica, born in Australia and lived there my whole life until I flew away to Japan December 2013.
Since that day nothing has been the same and I have fell in love with meeting amazing people through my travels and hearing their adventures.
I started my adventure in a ski resort in Hakuba, Nagano prefecture in Japan and was able to learn so much and make new friends.
Currently I go to a university in Sapporo, Japan (North island of Japan!) where I am lucky to be surrounded by mountains and live in winter for almost 6 months of the year.
I love snowboarding and together with photography are my two largest passions in life (and of course travel!) Now I am trying to improve my cinematography skills.
NEXT PLANS:
Currently I am studying Korean and hope to study take an exchange semester in Korea next year
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I came on to couchsurfing thinking it would be a great opportunity to make new friends around the world. When I visit a country I want to not just be a common tourist. I want cultural immersion and the chance to make new friends wherever I go.
I want to share stories, feel inspired and keep traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have hitchhiked from Sapporo city to Tokyo in 3 days. I got stranded in the tiny country town of Date in Hokkaido but was saved from spending a night by the roadside by a friendly old man with a three-legged cat. We stayed up until early morning drinking his world wine collection. The next day we said farewell at Hakodate ferry port where I crossed to Aomori to mainland Japan.
I have also hitchhiked within Japan on a few other occassions, most recent of which I found myself standing in the snow trying to get a ride from Hakuba (Nagano Pref.) to Osaka.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I hope to be able to share stories with everyone I met and we can inspire each other to never stop moving, learning and seeing what the world has to offer.
