Overview
About Me
I'm an organic gardener and writer/editor living in the Eastern Townships of Quebec with my Yan. We lived on Vancouver Island for years before moving to rural Quebec. I've studied and practiced community-based herbal medicine and am now experimenting with growing willow for basketry. Yan is a plumber who works locally and travels with Cirque du Soleil as part of the infrastructure crew. We love to travel slowly, meet new people, experience local foods and explore the beauty of the natural world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I was in university I travelled around Canada and France as an organic farmer through the WWOOF (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) programme and truly loved it. I'm inspired by cultures of sharing, and meeting local people and other travellers makes me feel inspired, engaged and happy. Thank you!
Interests
I love hiking, wild swimming, reading, writing, wild-harvesting, farming, cooking, and drinking tea. Yan and I love slow mornings with beautiful lattés and good books, puttering in the garden, listening to CBC Ideas, playing with our beloved white shepherd, travelling, camping, and spending time with friends and family.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love folk music, old and new, and documentaries that teach me something about the world. I have a soft spot for Victorian literature and love books about nature, poetry, art and history. My library card is one of my most cherished possessions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I made wild boar sausage with a family on a farm in rural France.
