About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to slow things down a bit. The end goal shouldn’t be retirement and it shouldn't just be the weekend (although Sundays can be pretty nice)

ABOUT ME

Hmm, here goes...
I'm a twenty-something illustrator from the bottom-end of Australia. I can make darn good pizza and pretty bad puns. I really think it's impossible to get an understanding of who I am in a few short paragraphs, but I feel that I'm a pretty gentle and relaxed person. I'm not one to have a lengthy debate about things I disagree on, I'd rather make tea. I think the travel isn't about getting somewhere (you could go around the world and not really travel) it's about the people you meet along the way (yes, cliche but true).

PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy is a tricky one – as soon as you start to describe it, it doesn't make quite as much sense as it did in your head. Kind of like trying to remember a dream, it gets more scrambled the harder you try.
But very loosely, I'd say I’m a pacifist with really good friends. I think if you need to shout your beliefs at other people then you're looking to have them justified.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Even though I'm relatively new to couchsurfing, I've already met lots of interesting people, drank at plenty of inconspicuous bars and seen Canadian burlesque at its finest (good times).
I'm genuinely looking forward to hosting more people when I get home, partly because it means that my travel doesn't have to end and partly because my housemates can't stay enthusiastic about my puns forever.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had lots of coffee, a few couches and some very lovely people.

Interests

I like to draw. To cook. Coffee. Music. To write fairly obsolete things in teeny tiny internet boxes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies – Actually more documentaries than movies.
Music - Anything folky, jazzy or acousticy. Bon-Iver a golden plains was pretty amazing.
Books - I really liked Shantaram although carrying it isn't the most practical book for travel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just flew across the pacific in a metal tube thing with wings. What could be more amazing than that?

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm going to come back to this one later. It's a bit too deep for a sunday.
