About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn all I can in creating community events which focus on the arts. I believe that art unlocks the codes to the things we cannot understand emotionally and directly in life and is a great tool for communication between cultures and mindsets. I am in my final year of art school and after this I hope to join a MA at the Schumacher College in Ecological Design Thinking.

ABOUT ME

I am originally a seaside dweller but moved to London in 2015 for university. During my time in London, I have found an understanding for collective action and have grown my language politically. I have joined a community arts group which grew out of a land project called Grow Heathrow, part of the transition town movement.
I believe in essential systemic change, thinking ecologically and compassionately in the world and would like to see a world in which everyone can travel freely, eat freely and meet freely.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am open to having guests stay, however I currently live in a student house - which is very busy and can be daunting for some travellers (bear this in mind when you request space). I am open to sharing food with guests, sharing stories and providing information for touring London (including an alternative tour of grassroots projects).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every experience I have had in staying with guests has been amazing and I hope to return this some day soon.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite book is The Machine Stops by J.M Forster - I think it's an amazing portrayal of individualism and that we shouldn't be afraid to break free from what we consider to be true.
My favourite music goes between an obsession with John Martyn and Bjork.

I'm not so much of a film person, but I saw Arrival recently and thought, even for a Hollywood movie, that the ideas provoked about language were interesting!
