About Me

I kinda dislike to describe myself as I think there is no 'definite' description about a person. I mean who you are to anyone is kinda subjected to the perception of the person who interacts with you right?

Anyway I guess I just briefly tell what I do and where I am from to let you make the call 😜

I was born and raise in Malaysia and I was working in Singapore before I started traveling like a backpacker. My hometown is called Kuantan, located at the East Coast of West Malaysia (most probably you have never heard of it but now you do 😝)

I started practice yoga since last year and I am a pescatarian since 2 years ago. Cooking has been the thing I would love to master if you so happened love cooking I do wish to you could share me some recipes 😊

I am a morning person and NOT a party person (unless there is a celebration with friends I'm open to it). Sports are just my thing, I love doing various kind of sports. I practiced martial arts when I was young and often played badminton, but now I am shifting towards more 'gentle' kind of exercise like swimming, hiking and yoga.

I quit my job early of this year and left Singapore for good, bought an one way ticket to Hanoi without any plan in mind. It was one of the best decision I've ever made in life, and that's when I started experiencing Couchsurfing, I had a wonderful journey and made good friends along the way.

I've just moved back to Malaysia and staying in Penang at the moment, it's about 20-30 minutes drive from Georgetown. Do let me know if you need a place to crush or wanna hang out 😉

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATED COUCHSURFING

It just rang a bell to me about Couchsurfing when a traveler I met on my arrival in Hanoi mentioned about it. I was traveling much like a tourist before but now I want to experience something different.

I would love to have more exposure to the local community through Coachsurfing. I enjoy one-to-one conversation with people more than the kind of social talk that we normally have with the traveler we met in the hostels. I think Couchsurfing is an amazing way to expand our network and meet people from all walk of life.

COACHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only surfed in Vietnam and Cambodia so far but I had great surfing experience not only I was exposed to Vietnamese culture but also I made great friends because of it. I've hosted two lovely Czech girls so far and I'll try to host whenever it's possible since I've settled down in Penang now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Jazz, Cantopop, blues, reggae are my favorite but I'm not a fan of any particular singer, any great songs that in sync with tunes that sounds good to me I'm gonna like it. I love to sing Karaoke from time to time too! ;)

I enjoy any movies with unusual story or plots such as oldboy, predestination, exam, source code, dressmaker, etc anything that's strange I'm gonna love it! 😍 My favorite drama series is Black Mirror in all times! I just love how they address the potential consequence on life with high tech development.

I usually read about self-help book (like the secret, mindset, the power of habit, or novel when I feel liking it. I love Dan Brown's novel particularly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee jump in Macau Tower when I was afraid of height.

Learnt Scuba Diving without knowing how to swim.

Quit my job and start solo backpacking without any plan in mind and learn to go with the flow

Learnt how to ride a motorcycle by myself at Sapa mountain (Vietnam) and had a "near death" experience 🙈 (a bit of exaggeration but I really thought I was going to die)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the languages I am fluent with, Mandarin especially! Many people have told me that it is such a hard language to learn but it is NOT hard at all, you just need to be a bit acoustic with the tones :p

I love meditation and yoga practice it's a great way to stay healthy and alert in times! I've learnt the secret of being fresh and mindful even without or lack of sleep (I would love to share if you're interested in knowing about meditation).

I love tech and my current interest is about big data I am very happy to have a discussion with you about that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to share anything that I know for sure! Any crazy adventures I did and experiences I had I love to tell! I love to discuss about religion, politics, outdoor activities, meditation, vegan eating etc!
