About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Feeling the passion! Keeping the balance! Affecting the surroundings!
ABOUT ME
"And here, poor fool, I stand once more, no wiser than I was before." (Faust, Goethe)
Since I've finished my studies at university (in literature, philosophy and education to become a teacher sometime), I try to realize all my long suspended plans. I do international youth work and implement projects abroad.
I did volunteer work for "Tools for Solidarity", a charitable organisation based in Northern Ireland which supports local communities and artisans in Africa.
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live. There's more than one version of the truth and they may all be right.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Let people stay at my place and enable them to experience a wide variety of moments in Leipzig or whereever I am hosting. I'm a good listener and I'm curious about your stories.
I also like to go around for surfing to experience the everyday life of people and the place I've choosen to explore.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only made positive experiences. CS is not just about a place to stay, it's about a cultural exchange. Your own personal tourist information officer and personal guide to each place of your choice.
When I have the possibility I like to host people and spend some time with my Surfers.
In Magdeburg for example I hosted four students from Berlin for four weeks. That was my longest CS experience. It was great and I don't say that because it was during the christmas market season where they had a langos booth and I could eat as much as I wanted ;D
Interests
being spontaneous, being catapulted into unique moments and sceneries, meditation, postcrossing, travelling by train enjoying to see the passing countryside or watching how the raindrops are splitting at the pane, airports with their scurry people and their structured flow, buddhismn, spending the starry nights of the summer at the nearby lake, cycling

Music, Movies, and Books
I can highly recommend reading the following books:
- by Hermann Hesse (all! but it's ok if you start with 'Demian' or 'Steppenwolf')
- by Albert Camus ('The myth of Sisyphus' - that's all about life, isn't it?!)
- by Juli Zeh ('Corpus delicti' is awesome)
- by Annie Leonard 'The story of stuff'
- by Haruki Murakami
Musicians that really impressed me:
- Chilly Gonzales
- Nils Frahm
Besides I usually prefer rock, alternative and indie. Sometimes jazz but it depends. My punk and heavy metal phases are over actually.
Movies? This list (that includes among others Tarantino and Kubrick) is simply too long to put it here. Just ask me when we meet.
By the way I usually avoid watching series. It's not because I don't like them, it's because I know that they are made for making me addicted. And I just don't have the time for being addicted to series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Vaulted myself out of the endlessly running hamster wheel (at least for a while).
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching and learning is a never ending story. For sure. It needs passion and resonance. Sharing is a good thing, we all could and should share much more, not only belongings also thoughts, ideas and especially time.
What I Can Share with Hosts
funny stories, cooking experiences, calm and unquiet moments, spontaneity and hopefully good and lasting memories
