About Me
Hi there
My name is Jesus and I was raised in Córdoba but I normally live in Málaga as I'm doing my PhD studies over there.
Both cities have a lot to offer: Córdoba its rich cultural heritage and monuments; and Malaga its modern enviroment and the variety of cultural activities and things to do (that, without considering the beaches, of course!). If you're interested in visiting any of these iconic cities in the south of Spain, you can check out these websites to find what you can do in Málaga or Córdoba:

Both are actually really close, and there are several ways you can go from one to another in 2 hours max: blablacar, trains, bus, etc.
From me, normally I don't travel a lot and I don't have a lot of experience travelling, mainly because my job right now is very time-consuming. But when I get some free time I really like to visit new places and get into their culture in depth.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have zero experience so far in couchsurfing and I thought it could be an interesting experience to meet people while travelling, plus, quite cheap accommodation ;)
As a host, I can meet you either in Córdoba or Málaga (depending on where I am that particular date) and give you a free tour around the city, eat something together and have some drinks.
Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music diverse and I don't have a particular favorite genre, although I could say that an important part of what I listen to is indie pop/rock. Some of the gigs of well known bands in the scene I've had the pleassure to assist: Arctic Monkeys, Placebo and Two Door Cinema Club. Other than that, I listen to very different bands and artists and the list is too huge to put it down here, but I'd be happy to share it woith you if we get to meet ;)
With TV shows is pretty much the same, I watch a lot of TV shows in netflix, the list is quite big. The last ones one my list: Arrested Development, Love and Dirk Gently. I don't watch many movies, normally, becuase the progress is slower and I tend to be impacient, but I usually go to the cinema to watch the last interesting releases.
I also spend a lot of time in videogames, wich I believe is another legitimate and high quality form of entertainment. In my opinion, if cinema is the 7th art, videogames should be the 8th.
In general, any science fiction/fantasy story (although not those genres necessarily) with a well-written plot and deep characters development is going to be appealing to me in any media.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am scientist and I am doing my PhD in microbiology, working in the field of molecular biology and genetics. I am passionate about what I do, and I love talking about science to whoever wants to listen, talk or debate with me.
Apart from that, I am very open-minded and I like to make conversation about any topics.
Also, if you're interested in learning Spanish or English, I can help with that!
