Overview
About Me
In the beautiful town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia after living in Halifax most of my life. My house is a time capsule from the 1950s with a view of the harbour, I have enjoyed restoring it over the last couple years. Am passionate about community and manage a newspaper in town with my friends. Work remotely in tech as a digital archival consultant after a past in investigative journalism. Also tour my award-winning dark musical comedy one-man show sometimes.

Woolf, Joyce, Sterne, Orwell, Jean Rhys, Paul Bowles, Knut Hamsun, Leonard Cohen, William Gibson. The two books that contain everything are Don Quixote and "Modelland" by Tyra Banks. Student of media history and information theory.
Like to listen to Joanna Newsom, Kate Bush, Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass, Talking Heads, David Bowie, Brian Eno, Parliament, a lot of music from blogs and last.fm 15 years ago.
Favourite performance attended was Prince in 2011.
Observation internalized from a YouTube comment: "not liking Enya is not liking waterfalls"
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One time a CouchSurfer from England showed up at my house and within his first hour in Halifax we were in a taxi to the casino downtown to (successfully) meet Boyz II Men right after their concert ended.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a special method for discovering and explaining connections between different people in history.
Want to learn more about different styles of cooking, agriculture.
What I Can Share with Hosts
In Lunenburg I can share recommendations on all sites of local interest, take you treasure hunting at the many nearby beaches, and offer you the rare opportunity to sleep on an air mattress in a UNESCO heritage site.
If you're ever in Halifax, Nova Scotia I can show you one square kilometre where Wilde and Dickens lectured, Céline walked around briefly before deciding he wanted to leave, a retired Babe Ruth hit softballs, three generations of my ancestors worked on the docks, free tickets were given away the day of a failed Weezer/Black Eyed Peas concert, and where the largest man-made explosion prior to WWII occurred.
