About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In August of 2016 I set out with my daughter on a pilgrimage to answer the call to Peru. During our 4.5 months there I made many discoveries into the depths of myself and into life which left me feeling humbled and blessed, having had our eyes opened to new cultures and environments, while meeting many beautiful helpful people along the way. We were set to return to Australia in December 2016 but felt called to continue travelling to Bolivia, Ecuador and Columbia. We spent 5 months volunteering at eco farm/temples in Ecuador, with a lot of time spent reforesting the Amazon jungle and visiting incredibly beautiful places in nature. We lived in the sacred mountains of Sierra Nevada Santa Marta for 2 months and worked alongside the Kogi. Living humbly and simply with a palm thatched roof overhead, and dirt beneath our hammocks, sleeping as one with the air, with a fire at our feet, experiencing no separation that walls bring, brought a whole new meaning to living as one with the Earth, the rain and sunrises and storms. I dream of returning to the simple humble life once again.
Technically, I never ended up doing any couch surfing with people here since creating this account, but we did stay with some amazing people!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed a rough mountain in Columbia barefoot, it took two days to get to the top. Had to use a machete to get through at times as there were no trails. Built a rough shelter at the peak and it poured for hours! Collected rainwater to drink and make dinner. Collected rubbish at the top that people had left and burned it, planted fruit and avocado seeds before heading back down.
