Overview
About Me
Likes cats, books and rainy days... I think you can get the gist of it.
I'm passionate about people and ideas, not so good with practical day-to-day stuff, but very good at helping people and quirky humor. I'm creative and value creativeness in others in whatever shape and form (fiction writing for me).
I am always open to talking about politics and/or political philosophy. I'm a laid back kind of person, but if you like to argue, there's a philosopher in me who is unfailingly ready for a civil debate.
I'm also very keen on getting to know people personally and talking about what interests and matters to them. I know this sounds like inauthentic self-promotion thing, but I really do value the way that people are.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Of course there's the element of practical necessity, but there's also a unique magic to being thrown into somebody else's life for a brief moment of time and hopefully making a connection.
At the moment since I cannot travel I am interested in meeting people who are travelling and helping them out.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: https://www.icheckmovies.com/profiles/triivhoovus/
My favorite directors are Tarkovsky, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Bergman, Haneke, Kubrick, von Trier. I guess I have a soft spot for gut wrenchingly painful art films.
I love listening everything from medieval polyphonic music to psychodelic rock. My favorites are J.S. Bach, Schubert, Arvo Pärt, Pink Floyd, Kate Tempest, Nick Cave, Joy Division, John Frusciante, Radiohead, Massive Attack, RHCP, Can, Tame Impala, Billie Holiday etc.
My truest love is for literature. My favorite authors are Woolf, Atwood, Dostoevsky, Lessing, Morrison, Hemingway, Houellebecq, Franzen. Some of the stand alone books that I really love are "Wuthering Heights", "I, Claudius", "The Age of Innocence", "Thérèse Desqueyroux", "Doctor Zhivago", "Illness as Metaphor", "Moby Dick", "The Bridge of San Luis Rey" etc etc. Estonian authors that I admire are Mati Unt, Ene Mihkelson, Viivi Luik and Tõnu Õnnepalu.
