About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Try to get out of town and see things when I'm not busy doing graduate school stuff.

ABOUT ME

I currently live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but grew up on the east coast near Washington, DC. I am a graduate, student, educator, and journalist with a serious case of wanderlust. I like to go anywhere and everywhere that I can think of. I'm really into riding my bike anywhere and everywhere that I can.

I also work for a large hot air balloon ride company, where I get up early in the mornings, set up, chase, and wrangle hot air balloons.

PHILOSOPHY

Exist. Travel. See new things and meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only used couchsurfing a few times, but I've had great experiences every time!

Interests

I am into anything outdoorsy. Hiking, cycling, and simply exploring are what I do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing place I have seen in my life is Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. Never before have I seen such gorgeous mountains, valleys, and lakes. On that trip, I sipped tea on the balcony of a teahouse that was some five miles up a mountain while watching avalanches come down the side of another mountain.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a graduate student studying American Studies at the University of New Mexico, where my research interests include queer geography, critical ethnic studies, and critical community and regional planning.

I am a history buff and a politics and policy wonk. I'm a former history educator who worked with incarcerated youth. I'm also a journalist/producer at a small public radio station.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Any help needed around the house, stories.
