About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Seeking new perspectives, to create my own
ABOUT ME
I've always been a day-dreamer, and for so long this has been made out to be a bad thing, but over time I have realised rather that this is what makes me who I am and drives what I do- to live out the dreams I have by the sleeping night, into the waking day.
As a result, I am spontaneous- especially in how I travel. I prefer to set off with no prior planned itinerary, deadlines, or commitments. How ever I feel at the time, and whom ever I meet on the way, will usually set the course for my trips. It's gotten me in a fair few messy situations, but that's all part of the fun.
I do enjoy getting lost in deep thought, and having random and insightful conversations in equally random places. I'll occasionally look to unwind and have fun in large social settings, but also love spending time in private contemplation (which happens a lot as I usually travel solo).
Particularly for the past 2 years, travelling has played a major role in my life- spending almost 12 months of the last 24 on the road. Along the way I have been fortunate enough to meet people from all walks, although I especially love meeting with locals- who better than to help you really understand about a country or place than someone who's lived there most of their life? And I guess this is where CS comes in...
PHILOSOPHY
All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by the night in the dusty recesses of their mind wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible- T.E. Lawrence
Strange, is it not? That of the myriads who
Before us pass'd the door of Darkness through
Not one returns to tell us of the Road,
Which to discover we must travel too- Omar Khayyám
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I look to meet up with other CSers in whichever city I am in, and hopefully find some hosts along the way.
I don't have a free couch/space in Sydney at the moment so I can't host, but I'm happy to meet up with people and show them around.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Been fortunate enough to go to meetings, events, and travel and surf with CSers from all over Western Europe and East to South East Asia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Riding a (bumpy) camel along the fading sunset into the depths of the Sahara Desert, climbing (literally, by hand and foot) into the gusting winds up the mighty sand dunes, feasting on a traditional Moroccan tajine dinner by the blazing campfire, recovering overnight in a makeshift tent, and then finally riding back out at the break of dawn to see the sun rise.
