About Me
For the longest time, I was using Couchsurfing only for the Hangouts. I never considered myself to be much of a traveler, until 2022, when my tidy sabbatical plans for Japan were failing for the second year in a row. With no plan left, I just packed up and started East. And unexpectedly, that sent me on a wild six month journey through 17 nations. Ever since then, I acquired a taste for just throwing myself out there, embracing the experiences I could have never planned for (like being in the middle of Persia at the height of summer).
There were two things I missed out on in these months, though: Couchsurfing and hitchhiking.
But it's never too late to start. So now, with an account that is 14 years old, I finally look to get into surfing and hosting.
Like for most people, describing myself is a challenge to me, but I can confidently say that I'm a calm, curious and humble person. I have a broad range of interests, most of them revolving around philosophy, society and how the human body moves in arts and athletics. I soak up knowledge wherever it is well presented, so if you're looking for obscure trivia, I'm your guy. But lately, I try to prioritize experience over knowledge.
My most fondest recollections of 2022 are the people I met in guest houses, hostels, on busses, trains and ferries. I'm looking forward to meet you, to share old stories and create new memories.
Nice to meet you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As stated above, I usually used Couchsurfing for the Hangouts and Community events in my own city or while traveling. I always enjoyed the spontaneity of meeting a stranger, just to say bye to a friend a couple hours later.
But now, I actually want to use it for it's main purpose, to actually dive deeper into the places I visit by finding a local to host me, and to share a bit of my culture abroad.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
If two years ago, someone would have told me that I'd find myself on an Iranian island at 40°C, having arrived there over land and sea from Germany, I would have declared them insane.
Not only because of the heat, Hormuz will forever stay seared into my memory.
I will never see such a mind-shattering place again in my life. You'll find a little glimpse of it in my photos.
Teach, Learn, Share
I use to think of myself as a jack of all trades, reveling in the continuous variety of activities and topics.
Feel free to ask what is on top of my mind at this given moment.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm an appreciative learner and will try to share my knowledge and perspective in turn.
I am happy to share anything related to movement, e.g. if you're interested in Parkour or other movement arts.
