About Me

Welcome to my world of exploration and curiosity! I'm an engineer by profession, specializing in designing image sensors (or cameras) for self-driving electric cars. When I'm not immersed in my 9 to 5 job, and particularly on weekends, you'll find me trekking, backpacking, or playing football (known as soccer in America).

When it comes to accommodation, I prefer Couchsurfing, especially when I have an open schedule without a fixed itinerary. I'm not the type of surfer who disappears for the entire day, only to return to the room for crashing at night. Instead, I actively participate in household chores, always hopeful to learn a few house-management hacks, and enjoy cooking meals. I appreciate any help or guidance when it comes to exploring the city. Also, if you suggest, I'm open to participate in any outdoor activities together. I am comfortable to discuss anything and everything, I strongly believe that each day is an opportunity to learn something new.

As a solo traveler and backpacker, I absolutely love trekking and discovering new places on my own. Whether it's scaling mountains or following hidden trails, if you're up for an adventure, I'm always ready to hit the trails. I find bliss in exploring vibrant cities. I believe the best way to experience a new place is by strolling its streets, stumbling upon local pubs, and immersing myself in the culture. And of course, catching a football match in a local pub adds a touch of excitement to the whole experience.

When I'm not traveling, you'll find me in the kitchen, finding solace in the art of cooking. I particularly enjoy preparing Indian and Bengali dishes, especially those with fish and meat. Experimenting with spices and recreating authentic recipes from around the world, and then sharing the “audacious” outcome with others is my hobby.

Having traveled extensively, spanning from Russia and Europe to South Asia and beyond, Iceland holds the top spot as the most remarkable destination I have experienced by a significant margin. I'm currently residing in Oregon, another gem when it comes to travel and nature. If you share my passion for exploring the world, share stories about travel experiences and connecting with new people, I'd love to connect with you. You can find more about me on Facebook and LinkedIn under the same name.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find myself drawn to Couchsurfing for several reasons. Firstly, as a solo traveler, I often find the solitude of hotels with their televisions quite unappealing. Instead, I prefer the companionship of staying with people, sharing stories and experiences over a couple of beers while cooking up some Indian dishes. Couchsurfing is also an opportunity to tap into the local knowledge and expertise of my hosts. Exploring a new place becomes infinitely more enriching when guided by the insights and recommendations of those who know it best—the locals. In addition to being a guest, I am also eager to host fellow travelers. By offering a place to stay, I hope to help others save a few bucks and redirect their resources toward more enriching travel experiences. It's a way for me to give back to the Couchsurfing community and contribute to the spirit of shared exploration. So, if you're looking for a friendly and adventurous host or a like-minded traveler to share experiences with, you can count me in.
