About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To graduate college without pawning off all of my possessions or my vital organs.

ABOUT ME

I'm a native of South Louisiana, and I lived in Thibodaux for seventeen years. I live in Lafayette at the moment, where I am a photography student at the local university, ULL.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, I haven't had any through this website yet. I've slept on lots of couches, but nothing of any specific interest or great import has happened.

Interests

I love reading. I cannot state this emphatically enough. I also love photography. I also like building things, drawing and Zydeco dancing, as well as other unrelated interests, like collecting doorknobs and inventing ghost stories for local creepy buildings. And, of course, things that everyone likes doing, like going out to bars/parties/places of interest.

Music, Movies, and Books

A few books that have grabbed my attention and admiration most recently: American Pastoral by Philip Roth, The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie, If On a Winter's Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino and a collection of poems by Allen Ginsberg, most notably Howl and America. I also have a deep and abiding love for Dylan Thomas, even though modern Welsh poets will probably hate me for it.

Other favorite writers of mine are D.H. Lawrence, Dostoevsky, Kafka, Heinlein, Camus, Sartre, Philip K. Dick and Ray Bradbury. Edgar Rice Burrough's Martian Trilogy is also a guilty pleasure of mine.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about obscure photographic processes. I also know a lot about normal photographic processes, both film and digital, although I do prefer traditional black and white photography. I also know how to make my own cameras and photo sensitive papers, which will come in handy whenever film is featured in the Smithsonian. I'm not giving it up!
