ABOUT ME

Just a guy with wanderlust, usually waiting to the last minute to plan! The word 'curiousity' really describes me...I love to learn about anything...especially people, cultures and the exchanges involved. I'm really laid back, independent but I live on the extremes...just as happy spending a day by myself or with a bunch of friends...... or strangers.... or strange friends! Love life and this amazing planet.....hiking, biking, walking, deep conversations, hit a museum, rollercoasters or just party..... I'll try just about anything.... at least once!

If I had to choose:
Choice #1 -Go to a famous tourist site (Tower of Pisa, Eiffel Tower, Coliseum)
or
Choice #2 - Hang with other CSer's and make dinner, picnic, hike, party etc

DEFINITELY #2!!! We'll get along fine if you picked #2 also.

PHILOSOPHY

Always open doors to see what's behind them....curiosity may kill the cat but at least he'll die happy!

Please shoot me if I ever take a guided tour on a bus!

We don't have to agree with each other we just have to respect each other.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'd been surfing awhile prior to knowing about CS and CS has made it so much easier to share our lives. One of the best things that has come along in my life......met so many cool, different people of the world and locally at meetups...if only everyone in the world could have the outlook that all CSer's do ...it would be a much better planet.

Interests

Into photography, biking, hiking, urban exploring and anything to keep the brain and body from stagnating. Can't get enough of the outdoors.

I've been to 15 World's Fairs (Expos) and plan on keeping it up! Last one was Expo 2020 in Dubai.I actually use it as a way to plan some of my travels and go somewhere new each time where something interesting will be happening as well as a way to explore a new destination. Next up: World Expo 2025 in Osaka.

Music, Movies, and Books

Almost anything for movies, books and music......some movies that rock are 'Gattaca', 'Koyaanisqatsi', 'Baraka', 'Lord of the Rings', 'Legend', 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles', 'Tatie Danielle', 'Amelie'. New favorite bands... Walk off the Earth, Heilung, Postmodern Jukebox, Kaleo and Jack Savoretti, some other groups that rock: anything Paul Schwartz does for music....... into Chill/Lounge stuff, Jamiroquai, Guster, Massive Attack, Phoenix, Eddi Reader, The XX.........but I listen to everything from World Music to Lady Gaga ......EDM to Classical...it's more about mood I'm in than more than style or the artist.

Favorite book right now STIFF by Mary Roach. Favorite Authors David Sedaris, Stephen King

One of my favorite amazing experiences was lying on the ground in the middle of the Sonoran Desert just looking up for about an hour. Absolutely no wind, no sounds.. just my heartbeat, the blue sky, the sun and the cactus in my view.

I know that's four but who's counting...

Money is not the key to happiness - I know........ you've heard that before..... but really it's the quality of life and the people you keep in your life that make you a success and will really give you inner peace.

What I Can Share with Hosts

hmmmmm....well you will definitely have a tour guide when you stay with me. I really dig showing surfers around my area of Connecticut and even further if time allows. Whether it is the close by cities, hiking some cool areas or going out for some awesome food/drinks. Mi casa es su casa....love to share some meals at home as well.

If you need some time to chill while on an extended trip you have found the right couch... but there is definitely some fun to be had as well!

If you are a traveler this show is a MUST...find it streaming somewhere: Departures (not the movie.... the tv show)

.....if you love traveling to exotic places you will drool over this show...give it a chance as the first episode is the pilot and the others are much better. I'd almost say watch it from episode two and go back to the first one at some point.
