About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to follow the smoke towards the riff-filled land...

ABOUT ME

Hiking metal punk. Music junkie. Amateur historian. Collector of Lore. Proud Southerner. Forest heathen.

I love traveling and meeting new people (of course, otherwise I wouldn't be on couch surf!). I can find common ground and get along well with pretty much anyone. My beliefs and interests are assembled from so many different sources that no matter what your politics, or whatever is, we will most likely get along. I love to have a good time: sippin' brews, smokin', hangin' out. I'm pretty easy-going and down for just about anything. I require very little to be comfortable.

PHILOSOPHY

Life's a grave! Dig it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined couch-surf, because I'm looking for a place to stay in Germany, but I would like to stay a part of the community! I think people from outside of the U.S. should not only visit the major cities, but should actually see the "real America", so that's why I'm interested in opening up my couch to anyone interested to come on down South and visit good ole' Tennessee!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None! I'm new to it. I Have heard great things about it from other people though!

Interests

I'm super into music. Pretty much a die-hard extreme music fan, metal, punk, any combination of the two. However, don't let that fool you, I'm not a bonehead or an asshole, and my tastes are really very broad. Also, it doesn't matter to me at all if what you like isn't what I like, because most people in their right mind don't care for the music I love! Besides, I'm always down to hear new things, and even if I wasn't into it before, its all about the memories you make and share, and communal music-listening/making is a big part of that.

I study history in school, so of course I'm really interested in the past. There are a few specific time periods and regions that I like to study, but really just the past in general interests me.

To round this out I just want to also ad that I'm a huge nature-lover. I love hanging out in the woods, hiking, camping, whatever, as long as civilization is off in the distance. I love animals too (although I'm not opposed to eating them), especially my sweet little varmint dog Lilith!

Music, Movies, and Books

Slow, heavy, fast, loud. anything with atmosphere. I may have morbid tastes in art and humor, but I'm not a depressing person, I swear!

as far as books, being a student of history, I read a lot of non-fiction about that. I also really love sci-fi and fantasy (but i have pretty high standards for this stuff, because there's a lot of garbage out there). I'm a huge H. P. Lovecraft fan, also Tolkien, Heinrich Böll, Philip K. Dick, and many others. Not a huge poetry fan, but the Austrian Georg Trakl is one of my favorite writers ever. I also really enjoy reading about mythology, folklore, and just life in the past in general.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Coming to possess 25 acres of the most beautiful land in the world, located in Clay County, Tennessee, and building a cabin on it with the help of my amazing friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am pretty sure that there are a dozen things I can talk to you about, and get you excited about, that you have never heard of before!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
