ABOUT ME

Man, I LOVE to travel and everything that comes with it! The new cultures, ways of thinking, foods, people, sights, histories, and sights to see! My name's Jhonny, I was born in Brooklyn, New York but raised in Miami, FL. I'm 22 and I just graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville. My parents are Colombian and I have 2 brothers. I'm sort of funny, I like to poke fun at myself. I'm outgoing, friendly, and I'd most likely be that guy at a party who would come up to you and introduce myself if you looked bored.

What would my friends say about me? Well, that I'm "rad to the power of sick!" or something along those lines.. haha. Nah, I'm decent and don't like to tote my own horn too much, which makes these sorta things weird for me. I feel that I'm pretty open minded. I'm always ready to try new things, always ready to go on an adventure of any sort.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After a fair share of traveling in the states with wonderful hosts, I'm now in near Seoul, ready to meet and hang with people! I kinda live in a tiny place, but otherwise I'd be inviting people over!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

UGHGHGHHGHG SOOOO AWEEESOOOMMMMEEEEEE AAAAGHGHGHGHGHHG I get so pumped whenever I think about Couchsurfing again. I've had only wonderful, super positive experiences with everyone. Not a single complaint, except that everyone was probably cooler than me.

兴趣

Interests? FOOD. I love food. I love trying new food. It's a hobby of mine to go around and eat things I've never had before at new places.

I love people. People are interesting! Everyone is a plethora of stories, and I'm always excited to hear one.

I love exploring! Whether it's hiking on a nature trail or getting lost in a new city, it's always an adventure!

I like sports, but I'd much rather prefer to play a sport than to sit around and watch one. I swam and played water polo for 4 years in high school. Heck, in college I even tried underwater hockey for a semester. Yep, that's a thing, YouTube it!

My dream job? To travel and teach, a combination of two of my biggest passions. I hope to teach English abroad to get my fill of both traveling and teaching. I want to inspire kids to get out of their comfort zone and get them to see the world. The world is filled with too many delicious foods, too many interesting people, and too many marvels to witness to simply live in your hometown all your life.

I love films. I'll give everything a dab, except for Open Water. I hated that one. Probably the only movie I've ever really hated to be honest!

Music? Whatever I can get my hands on.

Books? Favorite ones are Tuesdays with Morrie, Jurassic Park, and Harry Potter.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

#1 would definitely have to be living at an international dormitory for 4 years in college. I got to live with an amazing cast of exchange students from all over the world. I learned so much from so many different cultures and ways of thinking.. it's what really inspired me to go out and see the world myself! I've made a good number of wonderful friends coming out of there that have made a big difference in my life. Which leads me to my #2..

Backpacking in Europe for 6 weeks. The friends I made at the dorm inspired me to go out and see the world, so I did! It was truly an eyeopening experience. It was a dream come true, and it only made my passion for traveling grow stronger.

#3 would have to be Machu Picchu. After days of trekking in the jungle and climbing to the very top, it was a breathtaking experience. Absolutely gorgeous.
