About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Currenlty looking under all the rocks in South America
ABOUT ME
I am probably not an alien or the reincarnation of Elvis. Sorry. I was born in South Africa, I went to school in Johannesburg, I went to university in Cape Town, I went to Saudi Arabia to work, I came back and put my self through the rest of my studies, I graduated. I went travelling all over South America, then in India, did some work in Texas, and have traveled in some of Southern Africa.
PHILOSOPHY
I don't really believe things make sense in the way most people do. Atoms bump into Atoms, these become people which bump into people all only planets which will probably spin off and bump into other planets. And somewhere inside this mess of randomness and causality we have to ascribe meaning to things, otherwise we probably go crazy. So right now I'm looking for those things I want to ascribe meaning to. I also believe in a wolrd that makes so little sense there is little use in philosophies that make sense.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I sold my bed, and my couch about a month ago so I could travel (Seriously all I own is what's in my backpack, a laptop and one crate books). So right now I'm a bit of a leech. But one day when I have real life again I hope to help out some one in a similiar situation, or actually just let interesting people crash at my place.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I just found out about this while travelling, so I guess I am a couch surfing virgin. Is there such a thing as couch-inity? I bet someone else has made that joke before. sigh.
Interests
My main interest is unexpected things. I get bored by things I expect, something suprising always makes me happier. So long as it doesn't involve dismemberment or death.

Music, Movies, and Books
Some books I like, but I read allot (Or try too), so there are tons more I like:
Kurt Vonnegut - Slaughterhouse 5
Gabriel Garcia Marguez - Hundred Years of Solitude
Thornton Wilder - The Eight Day
Herman Hesse - Steppenwolf
Max Brooks - World War Z
Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons and John Higgins - Watchmen
Robert Swindells - Brother in our Land
Bertrand Russell - History of western philososphy
I used to be huge rock fan, pretty much used it to define my identity, now I am older and my tastes are more varied, but still very Rock influenced. I still don't really enjoy club/dance music though, sorry. These are some bands/artists I enjoy(But also not exhaustive):
Tom Waits
Led Zeppelin
Metallica
PJ Harvey
Patti Smith
Springbok Nude Girls
BLK Sonshine
Bob Marley
Rolling Stones
Modest Mouse
Nina Simone
Teach, Learn, Share
Ya, I'm used to be really good at what I did, really good. So I could teach allot about computers, a bit about maths. But mainly I like the idea of just teaching people what ever they need to be taught, that you happen to know, and there's allot of knowledge in everyone. So it doesn't seem that unlikely that something I know ill be useful.
