ABOUT ME

I love to travel. I am fascinated with learning about different cultures. (My current household represents France, Libya, Venezuela, and Brazil). My passion/hobby/addiction is Salsa Dancing. I go into NYC every weekend to dance and an occasional shopping trip. I also enjoy making dinner for friends at my house. I am an ESL teacher at a public middle school and love doing language learning exchanges. I practice yoga, hike, visit the ocean (especially for the sunsets). I eat a mostly organic, mostly vegetarian diet. I adore animals (especially dogs). One of my accomplishments has been to organize a language immersion/community service trip for teachers to Antigua, Guatemala.We donated money, supplies, and a month of teaching to a school serving farming working/street children. I plan to return again next summer.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to invite people to stay at my house but I have to check with my roommate first. I would also like to show people around the area including NYC.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most rewarding thing I have done is teach inner city kids Salsa dancing and then have them perform in front of huge crowds. :)

The most physically challenging was kayaking the Prince William Sound in Alaska for 30 days. (I came back looking like Wonder Woman)

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an English as a Second Language teacher and would be more than happy to give lessons or make an exchange. Also I enjoy cooking and would love to share. In addition, I also have experience teaching Salsa dance. I can teach ladies spinning and styling and help the lead with their technique.
