Moving to Germany to pursue my love for German traincar expressions

ABOUT ME

I'm convinced that I would be a much better human if I didn't make all important life decisions in a totally rash and mostly irrational way. But then I guess I wouldn't get to travel as much. I'm a Canadian (from Ottawa/Montreal), who moved to Germany a couple years ago following a quarter life crisis. Somehow I managed to find a job I love at the UN in Bonn Germany, where I write about climate change and make people nervous about the world melting.

People tell me I am pretty easy going and tell good stories that seem unbelievable but are actually all true. I'm not much of a partier, but I do love long late night chats with too much wine/beer. I'm a pretty easy traveler and don't really care to see specific attractions, mostly I just really like to walk around and take it easy (eating, drinking, chatting etc.).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm still a CS amateur, but mostly I like the idea of making a few new buddies when I find myself somewhere I've never been before. I've only couched surfed once with two of my best friends in Mexico and it was absolutely incredible! Since then my roommates and I hosted a few people in my old Montreal apartment, but since moving to Germany I've been hopping from couch to couch myself so unfortunately no chance to host yet. Would always be willing to meet up for a coffee/beer though.

I spend most of my time reading and being with my friends and trying (and failing) to learn German. In my spare time I am also a semi-serious writer of short stories. I also spend a lot of time drinking beer.
