ABOUT ME

I was born in China and did my university study in Singapore. After graduated from the university I started my own company there. It turned out to be quite successful and we expanded very fast - from 0 to more than 1000 people within 2 years of time. But after four years of hard working, I was suddenly struck by the questions "what am I working for" , "what's in front of me?" and "what's the meaning of life?"

I couldn't think of the answers for the questions and I couldn't work with those questions in my mind. So I quit my company and embark on my journey, physically and mentally, searching for the answers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I do enjoy talking with different people from different culture, and sharing stories. I'm not sure if this could help me in answering my questions but it would definitely make me happy.

Interests

I like reading, especially history, autobiography, philosophy. A glass of wine (perhaps Chardonnay or Douro), plus classical music (something like Bolero maybe?) played in the background would really make me feel relaxing.

When going out, I love dancing (mainly cuban salsa) and sports, such as badminton, swimming and hiking.

I'm also an amateur painter for traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can hardly tell something amazing that I've done, as there're too many. But one thing that definitely changed my life is starting my own business 4 years ago. We started from scratch and grew into a company with over 1000 people in 2 years of time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have quite a few unusual experience during my travelling (and as you can see I've travelled a lot!) and working (as I ran my own business) that I'd love to share with you.

We can talk about philosophy of the world from western Plato, Socratic to eastern Confucius and Lao zi. We can talk about everything I know about how to run a business (successfully of course), including marketing, management, fund raising etc, which I've been practising that for the past 4 years.

I can also teach you how to dance salsa (or we can dance together if you're already a good dancer) and do traditional Chinese painting.
