Overview
About Me
I love building communities and nurturing people, from being the founder of the first Junior College TEDx event in Singapore to starting the Singapore Self-driving Car Engineering Meetup community.
I just graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in law, and am spending my short break now diving deep into mathematics, physics and computer science.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love people, their stories, and how they live their lives in different parts of the world. How I travel is very influenced by Pico Iyer's essay on Why We Travel, from which I quote:
"Though it’s fashionable nowadays to draw a distinction between the “tourist” and the “traveler,” perhaps the real distinction lies between those who leave their assumptions at home, and those who don’t: Among those who don’t, a tourist is just someone who complains, “Nothing here is the way it is at home,” while a traveler is one who grumbles, “Everything here is the same as it is in Cairo — or Cuzco or Kathmandu.” It’s all very much the same."
Interests
I love all sorts of water sports as well - jet-skiing, wakeboarding, cable-skiing, stand-up paddle, surfing - you name it!
In my free time, I like escaping from the buzz in busy Singapore city to the nearby island countrysides to cycle, explore quarries etc. Cafe hopping and book browsing at bookstores are my kind of thing as well
