ABOUT ME
Thought I'm not very talkative in french, my native language, I like to chat in foreign languages: English, but also Spanish and now I'm also learning German.
My favourite mean of transport is bicycle, my second one is hitch-hicking.
In town, the first one is more efficient, ecological, and cheap than buses and so on or -worse!- cars. (By the way, if by chance you are studying in Nantes, see http://velocampus.net/ ).
For further distances, the second one is, compared to car or train, more environement-friendy and more "just" friendly. I mean it makes you meet diferent people and chat with them while otherwise you wouldn't have. As CS does. And it is money-saving too.
I also like to use sailing as a mean of transport, but that isn't so frequent as I'd like to !
What else? I'm from Brittany, and proud of that! Yet I don't speak Breton, it's almost not used any more unfortunately. Nevertheless, though I wouldn't claim I'm an "expert" at it, I have good working knowledge of English and Spanish: If you're afraid my "intermediate" level a few pixels on the left could be a barrier, I think I can prove you wrong ;-) (I'm a bit perfectionist, this 3-choice language level description stuff definitely don't satisfy me. Never mind)
Also, I don't smoke.
PHILOSOPHY
traveling without mooving, that's called dreaming. Better than nothing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My first goal was to host people in my flat in Nantes and make them discover the area, and that way meet different people and discover indirectly other parts of the globe. I now hope I'll take more time to travel myself!
Moreover, I like the local social aspect of the CS project, illustrated by the geographical groups system. For instance, the Nantes CS group is very active, I find, and I like to participate in while having enough time (you know, there are generaly several things a week to do with the Nantes CS group...). If you are around, join the "Dromadaire" event on the 10th, 20th, and 30th of each month !
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted a few CS now (Claude, Marine, Marion, Aleksandra, Natalia, Beata, Frédéric, Rodrigo), among which some via the Nantes emergency request group. Nico also hosted people, above all while I wasn't there.
Then, hitch-hiking to spain, I've been hosted by Benoit who made me visited Bordeaux and by Antxoka and Douglas who made me discover Bilbao. This travel have been great, thanks to them!
While working in Madrid, I have been to Portugal where I met back Rodrigo in Porto and was hosted by Ana in Lisbon, what was a great experience with her and Claudia.
After that, I've also couchsurfed again at Antxoka & Douglas' flat, where Harry was living too then.
Thank U everyone!
I also participate(d) a bit in the Nantes local CS group.

Music, Movies, and Books
-> Music : a bit of everything, including modern breton music (Merzhin, Sonerien Du...). But my favourite bang is definitely Supertramp. I also like to take the time to discover musics: Music is like the World is and the people are: so much to be descovered!
Also, if you pass around Madrid on a Sunday, check out http://percusionretiro.blogspot.com/ before, and feel free to join at the Alphonso XXII monument (on the pond sides) on the evening... if the police let play :-s.
ES: También, si pases por Madrid un domingo, ve el enlace arriba y si te da ganas apuntate al monumento Alfonso XXII (al lado del estanque) por la tarde... si la policia deja tocar :-s.
-> Books and movies : I don't read a lot of books neither watch a lot of movies, 'cause I seldom feel I have spare time for doing so... well, actually planning to take more time for reading now. I like those you feel you haven't wasted you time after having read/watched them: those which make you think over something, which have a kind of philosophical message. Funny ones, too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summer, I've spent 3 weeks in Senegal with my scout team, helping a local assocation with local scouts. It's definitely been an incredible experience.
But I think the "adventure" that impressed me the most was an unforgettable cruise in the south of brittany when I was 17 y.o. : with 3 friends of mines who used to juggle too, we decided to have a juggling boat trip during our school holidays. We spent this unusual week sailing, and begging for money while juggling in harbour cities. I wouldn't have spent my life doing that, but it worked. For fun, we even played poker with the whole worthless little coins we did gather that way. We paid then had a drink with those same coins on the last day, before everyone to go back home (or anywhere else), both hitch-hicking with our whole juggling stuffs.
Unfortunately I don't take the time to juggle a lot any more.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach a bit of breton dance, and I can help solving some enoying everyday life technical problems.
Also, my brand new plan is to learn the German basics and look for a job in Germany... to be continued!
