Overview
About Me
Hello,
My name is Jihyang.
I was born in Seoul but I grew up in Daejeon in South Korea.
I don't know how I do describe myself
because I think every single human being is very complex.
I can be shy and quiet at first but I like talking with people about interesting issues which means I can be very enthusiastic in some ways.
However, people who know me very well often say I am quite sociable and sometimes sentimental.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think it's an amazing idea to stay in a stranger's house when you travel. And also you don't have to pay for it. Because I'm always a low-budget traveller, therefore I can save money and Plus, meet new people through couchsurfing !
I like meeting new people and learning all kinds of different things like their culture, language and foods as well. Also I am interested in travelling with local people and hearing what they really think about their country
I haven't used couchsurfing before but I really wanted to try it.
That's why I am here !:)
Interests
I enjoy watching movies, drawing, reading books, cooking, baking (These days, I'm really into cooking vegetarian foods _ but I am not a vegetarian. I really want to be someday, though),cycling, playing tennis, going on picnic, and dancing.
And, I read quite a lot...yes I am kind of a bookworm. I always carry a book with me wherever I go.
I love travelling and exploring the world I've never been before. I would like to travel all around the world as much as possible in my life and write about the story of that. It is one of my dreams actually.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Jazz, folk, country pop.
I'm a bit picky when it comes to music. but I listen to almost every kind of music like electronica and house, lounge music as well.
I can say the world will be a very boring place without music.
My favorite musicians are Norah Jones, Rachael Yamagata, Kings of Convenience, Windy city(The first reggae pioneer in Korea) Kim Yuna(Korean singer-songwriter), Free tempo, Nujabes, David Guetta
My favorite movies are "Chungking Express", the original title is 重慶森林 in Chinese, "Nobody loves me", the original title is Keiner liebt mich in German. Besides them, there are so many favorite films in my mind.
One of my favorite book is "The little Prince"
I've read it more than 5 times of my life. but it is still the best book for me.
and my favorite authors are Milan Kundera, Alain de Botton, Kimyeonsu..
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2012, I decided and started to live as a stranger in other countries I've never lived. I went to Vietnam and lived there for 6 months. And then, in the following year, 2013, I went to Kuwait and worked and lived there.
And after a couple of years, I went to Northern Ireland to work and live for people with special needs and stayed there for 6 months.
It was quite an amazing thing I've ever done and
for some reason, every year I am ready for a long trip.
Teach, Learn, Share
As you can see, I can teach you Korean, which is my mother tongue if you want.
And I can share Korean recipes such as spicy foods ( If you like super-spicy foods. Even I cannot eat them, though), Kim-bob, Bulgogi, Bibimbob, Tthukbokki and etc.
Besides that, I have worked and lived as a volunteer for the people with special needs in Northern Ireland. I used to cook for the people. So I can give you the recipes that I used to enjoy cooking.
But More than that, I can share my story and also I want to hear your story..
