Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have experienced some amazing acts of kindness from strangers whilst travelling. Walking along a beach in Hawaii and being invited by a husband and wife to join their BBQ and ending up staying at their place for four nights. Meeting another hiker on the Appalachian trail, driving in his car to Texas and staying at his place for a week, then him borrowing money to lend me to buy a new ticket back to Japan when I was broke! Hitch-hiking in Hokkaido, getting a ride from two middle-aged women and staying with them for three days whilst they drove me to every site of interest within a 200km radius. The Romanian security guard noticing me walking past his office three times and asking if I was looking for a hotel, then insisting I stay with his family in their apartment "because the hotels are too expensive"......
