About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be open to the unfolding of the universe, all while having a good time.

ABOUT ME

I live near downtown Spokane on an organic urban farm. I sell produce and farm on a rooftop in the city. I am also a freelance writer: grants, essays and fiction. I am a single mom to two brilliant teenagers. I am open, compassionate, and kind. I like adventure and silliness. I am easy-going and comfortable in rustic conditions and super fancy alike.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couch-surfed in B.C. Canada, Ft. Lauderdale and outside Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I hosted at my place on the farm for several months. love meeting new people and getting around the established system of spending tons of cash to see new places and meet new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My sister has been on couch surfing for awhile, she set up a trip to Nelson BC, it was awesome. Great place to stay, cool folks, super positive experience.
In 2012 I spent a month in Jamaica, I spent part of that time couch surfing in the hills outside Ocho Rios, it was fantastic, I made great friends, had the best time ever, and plan to go back!
This past summer I had a guy stay with me and work on our farm, it was awesome, we became close friends! I hope to find more folks that want to come check out my place and farm through here.
I spent a couple nights couch-surfing in Ft. Lauderdale on my way to Jamaica this past November, that visit was filled with great conversation, good wine and awesome hospitality!

I am passionate for green living, social justice, urban farming, writing, music, art, the night sky, travel, flowers, wilderness, organic food, friendship, homemade chai, sun salutations, Kundalini, the ocean, hot springs, homeschooling, hiking... and more.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Bright Eyes, Desaparecidos, Neko Case, Sleater-Kinney, Merle Haggard, MGMT, Mos Def, Bjork, Levon Helm, Gillian Welch... and lots more. I don't watch a lot of movies, I don't have a teevee. I read a lot, Sherman Alexie is a favorite, also, Barbara Kingsolver, Margaret Atwood, Tolkein, Tom Robbins, Haruki Murakami, Jerzey Kosinski, Patti Smith's memoir was a recent amazing read...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Childbirth - of course.
A lightening display that lit the whole sky on fire one fourth of July.
The ocean - every time I go... most recently Cua Dai beach in Vietnam, watching the sun rise.

Teach, Learn, Share

Organic farming, simple living skills - food preservation, wild-crafting, knitting, spinning wool...
