About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Make friends and eat food (or even better, make friends while eating food) all over the world!
ABOUT ME
I'm in the amazing, fantastic, irreplaceable New York City to start my last year studying at New York University (a terrifying notion - I'm not ready for the real world!)
Though I have no idea what I actually want to do with my life, I do know that I like books, bike riding, and beer, which is how I try to spend my time when I'm not swamped with studying. I've also made it a point this year to see as much live music as possible. So if you hear of an awesome concert, let me know and I'll definitely attend.
I currently live in an apartment with two awesome roommates, in Soho New York. It's a reaaaally nice area, but kind of expensive. There are a lot of cute boutiques, and really delicious restaurants. I've also lived in other areas of the city, and have friends who are much cooler than I am, so I will never fail to have lots of things to recommend!
PHILOSOPHY
carpe diem
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was able to couchsurf all across Europe, and the experiences I had were stupendous. I JUST moved into my apartment, and as such haven't really gotten around to fully unpacking yet, nor do I really have a couch for you to stay on :( I'd love to meet up though, and show you around New York!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing literally restored my faith in humanity. Just knowing that there are people in the world who are willing to open their homes to strangers and make friends and share experiences with visitors was such a great thing!
My personal favorite thing is when my hosts are able to show me something that they love about their city, whether it's where to get the best view, their favorite bar, even their favorite places to get food when coming home from their favorite bar. It gives me an entirely new perspective on the city, which is something special that I wouldn't get to experience ever if not for my amazing hosts! When I'm able to host in New York, I'll have tons of unique things to show surfers, and I can't wait

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading, and especially like English 19th century novels, and also American literature, particularly in the early 20th century. (I'm an English major, I can't help it..)
I love all sorts of music, genuinely, and while I don't watch too many movies, I like movies that make you think. I also have bad tendencies to watch these movies over and over (most recently, An Education)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Backpacking / Rock climbing in Yosemite - that was the most physically challenging, and ultimately the most rewarding and satisfying experience I've ever had.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Japanese! Or at least maybe the basics anyway - "Hello" "Thank you" "Where's the bathroom?" I need to practice my Japanese before I forget it!
I used to be a gymnast, and have pretty much lost all my ability, but I can teach you to do a killer handstand.
