Overview
About Me
I am currently on a ridiculous trip around the world with my husband, Andrew (who has an established profile: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/pikeplace_hobo ), beginning with a road trip across the US, followed by as many months as we can manage in Europe, and concluding with some time over in Ecuador, Brazil, and Mexico. Our goal is at least a year of adventure. We've got a blog, www.thewanderblobs.com if you're interested!
Besides that, I am passionate about education and the arts. I draw and paint myself, and love teaching. I have also been riding horses for most of my life, and will nerd-out about them when given the chance. Wine and coffee are two of my favorite things, as well as comfy pajamas and conversation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My husband has experience Couchsurfing in Europe, and now that we are traveling together, I'm being welcomed into the community. So far I've had a very positive experience!

Music, Movies, and Books
I went to school in Bellingham, WA, so admittedly most of my music library is alt rock/indie, but I'm not terribly picky, and you can probably get me to dance to anything with a decent beat.
Harry Potter is a lifelong love and passion (see a photo from our HP wedding) and has informed many areas of my life. I love to read when I have the down time.
My television and cinema favorites are a healthy mix of Amelie, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Parks and Rec, Portlandia, Moonrise Kingdom, the Princess Bride... etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I competed horses at the national level in college through the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, but that may have been a fluke...
My husband and I converted our Honda Element into a microcamper for our fall 2018 road trip and lived out of it for nearly two months as we drove from Washington State to the East Coast. Plus now we're on the rest of this trip, which is pretty nuts.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My husband and I are a package deal, but we come with wine, some pretty lame jokes, and stories. We are happy to cook for you! If you'd like to hear about America, we just drove across most of it, but we've explored a few other places in the world as well and in general do some silly things. We like meeting people and enjoying conversation.
