About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make my herb garden grow stronger.
ABOUT ME
I always enjoy an adventure and trying something new. I love to explore, both my own city and new places, especially by bicycle. Though I live in the city, I must admit that I feel most comfortable in nature. I like going out and having fun, but I definetly schedule enough time to be alone and read, make art, walk, bake, etc...
I am a very laid back person and I think being in NYC makes me even more so... it is more fun here if you can distance yourself from the craziness of the city- it is an ideal place to observe and people-watch!
PHILOSOPHY
I once heard a great philosophy on life that I will steal and then add to:
Try to live life in service, first, to your family and those close to you, to your community, and to your environment.
I try to live by this philosophy, but in addition, I feel that doing something for yourself that makes you feel most authentically "you," will ultimately be what makes you content and fulfilled.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am finally joining couchsurfing upon recommendation from friends who are avid members. I hope to have guests who are interested in exploring New York and seeing hidden treasures that they would not find in a tour book. I know a lot about the art scene in the city and am willing to share! Even if I can't spend a lot of time showing guests around the city, I am always eager to meet new people and hear stories, so we can definetly share a meal, a drink, or a walk around the neighborhood. I love to bake, so I'm sure guests will reap the benefits...
When I travel, I prefer to spend time not only seeing a new place, but meeting the people who live, socialize, and work in that place. I hope that by staying with a fellow couchsurfer, I can both make a new friend and better understand/enjoy the place I am visiting. After all, it is the people in a place that make it what it is.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never been part of a formal couchsurfing network, but I have traveled all over Europe, staying with friends, friends of friends as well as random people.
Interests
I am interested in too many things. So chances are I can find something in common with any visitor/host...
To name a few: making art and seeing art, bicycles, baking, dance, community farming, yoga, urban exploration, good landscape design, TRAVEL, hiking, learning about diverse religious practices, learning languages, and many many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I realize that thousands of tourists see this every day, but I was completely mesmerized by the ancient agora in Athens. To contemplate that specific site of civilization thousands of years ago is amazing. I can't wait to visit more such sites, Egypt, Machu Picchu...
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to brainstorm and think big. To exchange ideas and find some way to collaborate artistically across country borders, around the world is something I find really exciting. These types of happenings/connections/alternative events keep life within the control of average people, and out of the hands of corporations and governements. Kind of abstract, I know, but I would be happy to discuss.
