ABOUT ME

Hi Couch Surfers my names Jillian im 26 and im from just outside Glasgow in Scotland. I have wanted to travel for as long as i can remember and it's always come down to time and money. After studying horticulture I saved enough money in 2012 to take a gap year and do an around the world trip travelling to south east Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and America. It was the best year of my life and I didn't think I would ever get the chance to do a trip like that again. I moved to London in 2014 for two years which was amazing it's such a cool city and then I started travelling again in January to Sri Lanka and then onto The Maldives and heading to Thailand for 4 weeks in February, followed by Myanmar, Borneo and the Philippines and then wherever the journey may take us....

PHILOSOPHY

Memories over money!!! The world is like a giant playground we need to enjoy it while we can. I have this fear I'll wake up when im 80 and be like ' why didn't i just go there or do that?' I want to be able to look back and think of all the crazy shit I have done and the amazing people I met and have no regrets!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I got CS in 2012 and never got round to using it but I have met so many people recently that highly recommend it and have had amazing experiences. I met many people when travelling and had them come and stay with me in London. When I get back to London or Scotland i will be making my house available to travellers like myself who just appreciate staying in a bed and having a shower and a home cooked meal

Im a very active person I play field hockey for my local Ladies team, I like to go skiing every winter and hopefully one year I'll get the opportunity to work a ski season somewhere, I like to mountain bike, go camping, kayaking and Im never afraid to try new experiences.

- Hot air ballooning over 2200 temples in Myanmar
-Scuba Diving with dolphins in Egypt, Sharks in South Africa and just Manta rays in Indonesia
- Seeing Killer Whales playing off of Vancouver Island , Blue whales in Sri Lanka and Humpbacks in Nova Scotia
-Skydiving in Vegas
- watching the sun come up in Gili T
- Taking a helicopter onto the Franz Joseph Glacier in New Zealand and doing a 3 hour hike through the Ice Caves and Crevasses
- We spend a night Camping on the beach that they filmed the film 'The Beach' with Leonardo DiCaprio
- Spending a day on a yacht in the Sydney Harbour with a couple we had met when travelling
- Mountain Biking in whistler was amazing especially when u come flying down a run and you come across a bear just sitting on the track
- Bungee jumping in Queenstown New Zealand
- White water rafting in British Columbia
- Hand forging knifes in New Zealand, best souvenier ever!!

I haven't got many talents to share but I have got plenty of travelling experience and lots of good stories from working in London as a prison officer. I'm always willing to lend a hand to help cook and clean up and very grateful when being helped out whilst backpacking.
