ABOUT ME

I grew up in rural northwestern PA, and most of my family is still there working on the family dairy farm. I stayed in the area to get my Bachelor's degree in mathematics and a minor in computer science. Then I lived in Raleigh, NC for about five years while in graduate school. My interest in travel (both domestic and international) really started during that time, and I was incredibly lucky to be able to drive across the country twice and visit Europe several times. I'm currently working on a trip to Italy.

PHILOSOPHY

No matter what goes wrong, I always try to keep in mind the things I learned from the situation. So I guess my philosophy would be to always look on the bright side.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I participated in the Cleveland Breast Cancer 3 Day on August 17-19, 2007. I walked 60 miles over the course of 3 days and raised over $2,600 to fund breast cancer research, treatment, and community outreach efforts.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some great recipes (I make a mean lasagna) and explain what someone can do with a math degree BESIDES teach. :-)
