About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Our mission is to continue traveling in Argentina and Colombia while meeting amazing people, learning how to dance salsa and tengo, and trying local delicious foods.
ABOUT ME
We (Julia and Jill) are 30 y.o women who have embarked on an adventure of growth, reconnection and exploration - of both mind, body and spirit. We will be traveling in South America for about 6 months, and we are currently winding down on month 3. We have been in Peru and Bolivia and our next countries will be Argentina and Colombia.
We're both social workers who are making life changes and these months of traveling are playing a vital role in our personal and spiritual shifts. Our friends would say we are: joyful, thoughtful, generous, adventurous, spiritual, grounded yet fiery, loving, funny, silly and independent. We both have loved meeting people where we have traveled and creating "micro" lives where we go- filled with (new) friends, laughter, stories and good food.
PHILOSOPHY
Jill: I believe that you need to face your fear and go beyond expectations that you hold for yourself. I believe in the importance of being in the present moment and opening my heart and mind to the people, stories and landscapes around me. I believe that love and trust are cornerstones to happiness.
Julia: To constantly expand and understand myself. To be inspired by life and others, to give back, to take risks, to LIVE my life (not just let it pass me by). To experience joy in whatever way it may unfold, and to continue to practice kindness in moments of discomfort.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Julia and Jill are looking for places to stay while in Argentina and Colombia. When we return to the Bay Area (and find ourselves homes) we´d love to open up our homes to couch surfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We stayed with awesome people in Cochabamba, Bolivia. They were loving, free spirited and incredibly welcoming.
Interests
Jill: I like to spend my time outdoors - hiking, walking, biking; with friends; cooking; connecting; learning; and seeking opportunities for growth.
Julia: I´m happiest when I´m sitting on a large rock by the river, snowboarding through the trees, drinking a great cup of coffee, reading a good book on spiritual development, meditating, playing volleyball, and daydreaming about the ridiculous things I will learn/do in the future (i.e. moving to NZ or learning to ride a motorcycle).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jill: While in Pisac, Peru we participated in beautiful ceremonies with medicine men; the experiences influences both my present and shifted my spiritual and emotional perspectives. Toro Toro, Bolivia was incredible... We spent two days caving, hiking and playing in waterfalls, in the company of 6 other travelers, from England, Bolivia and Argentina. It was a blissful two days.
Julia: hmmm... lots of amazing things. Most recently it would be the ceremonies and incredible heart openings I had in Pisac, Peru. Also, taking a risk and quitting my job to be here is a life changing experience in and of itself.
Teach, Learn, Share
Julia and Jill are both Reiki practioners and would be happy to share/provide Reiki.
