ABOUT ME

Hey hey hello. I'm Jillian, but you can call me Jill, Jilly Bean, or even just Jillian, that's fine too. I've been a couch-surfing member for maybe two years now, but have never actually couch surfed. Hopefully if you are reading this, you will be my first (so its bound to be special..right?). I love adventure, the sunshine, the sea, tie-dyed items, trader joe's, sundresses and spending my time with genuine people that give off positive vibes. I love hearing peoples stories as well as sharing mine -- a great reminder that we are all connected in some way. If you have any sense of humor at all (preferably sarcastic, weird, maybe a bit dark) then we will get along a-okay my fellow human.

PHILOSOPHY

Be kind. Kindness is such an underrated trait, and people often take it as being naive or weak, which is absolutely not true. Give love and recieve love. You never know how you can positively affect somebody's day by just smiling at them.

NEW: I have been trying my hardest to put this into practice everyday: stay present. Living in the past as well as trying to predict the future only causes us to suffer. Living presently and making the best of this very minute really does make an impact on our positivity and happiness. Plus, in this way we can look back without regrets and see that we lived life to the fullest all the time :)

I haven't participated yet, but one day when I have the resources I would love to open my home to other couch surfers looking for a place to stay as they travel!

I have never had a couchsurfing experience - yet! But I look forward to my first one, whenever that be!

Interests

Food, travel, meeting new and friendly people who love life just as much as I do, wakeboarding, hiking, fitness, the beach, reading, FOOOOOOD (have I not made that clear?)

I'm very invested into learning spanish, I love languages and anything that will help me communicate better with those around me is nothing but beneficial.

I am really into health things like different styled workouts and delicious healthy foods, but I love treating myself too :) i'm sort of a cookie fiend

Music, Movies, and Books

How could I choose? Everything is awesome. And if you were wondering, yes I freakin' love Harry Potter. Oh, fun fact, I can recite ANY Avatar the last airbender episode ever. Not kidding. I am 22 years old and I am not ashamed of this. Appa yip yip.

I'm a huge music fan and love different music on different days. Some music that I never get sick of: Tom Petty, The Eagles, Bon Iver, The Avett Brothers, Vance Joy, Lumineers, Hozier, Rolling Stones, Local Natives, Tallest Man On Earth, Alt-J, Dr. Dog, I also love country, rap, spanish and traditional irish music...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That one time that I hopped on a plane to a Spain without knowing a lick of Spanish (man that was an awkward first month).

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can teach may vary to different people - I have my own story, and I am willing to share that story with whomever wants to hear it. I hope that I can teach people in this way and provide advice if needed, help them through any struggles that they are going through, or just share a laugh with someone. Plus, I can make some good diet/workout plans!
