ABOUT ME

I'm a contemporary dance artist. I perform, teach, and choreograph. I'm 27, married, and live in Toronto in a tiny condo downtown. I have a cute little dog. I am quiet, but I love talking to people about what they care about, and what they think about.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm always learning, growing, changing. I will always be myself, but myself is shifting with each passing moment. The moments we change are the most memorable. Those we share those life-altering moments with connect us for all of time. Life is wildly unknown and infinitely surprising!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just getting started. For now I'm hoping CS will help me reach my goals of experiencing life to the fullest, starting with this small trip. Perhaps this will take me further to Europe someday!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm brand new to this site, but I have found my way to Princeton, NJ and New York by couch surfing through sending out messages via facebook and email to friends and friends of friends of friends...
That trip to Princeton/NYC was also to expand my artistic experiences as a dancer. I will never forget the hospitality of the people who helped me out. How wonderful humans are! Truly a life-changing trip.

Interessi

Seeing shows (theatre, dance, live music, comedy), playing nerdy board games, baking (although I rarely have time to bake), watching movies/tv, reading, crocheting (although I rarely have time to crochet either haha!)

Musica, film e libri

I'm not one to have a solid favourite... I like a lot of things, and then I move on to the next thing... here's some recent things I've been interested in (books), A Portrait of Peggy Baker, The Silo trilogy , The Rebel Sell: Why the Culture Can't be Jammed, and Phillipa Gregory's books such as The Constant Princess, The Other Boleyn Girl, and The Virgin's Lover... (Movies) Frozen, Pulp Fiction... (music) Elephant Revival, Seryn, Hawksley Workman, The Mounties, Hey Rosetta, Sam Roberts, Arcaide Fire, Walk the Moon, Spoon, Ray Charles, Sade,I also love jazz, especially live, although I have very little knowledge of jazz groups right now.

Seen: 3 strong, young men speak of their great, great friend and share the wisest of words to friends and family at a devastating funeral.

Done: I ran the Toronto Scotiabank Half-Marathon, and placed 221, out of over 6,800 women!

I feel great about sharing what I've learned about myself as an artist with others. I think the arts are very important to balancing one's life, so I have this to offer.

I also have much to learn about life. About being a good person, but also much to learn about other aspects of life aside from art. I don't know much about the Business/financial world, about social work, and politics. I am interested in learning from my hosts. This is an exciting aspect of CS!
