ABOUT ME

I'm 5'9" and have hazel eyes. I'm someone's daughter. I am guardian of Toby, the raddest chihuahua on Earth. Everything else is changing all the time!

Moving past brevity:
Spent the past 11 years working in insurance and satisfying my creative urges with occasional painting, modeling, video performances, and lots of cooking. Recently tendered resignation to said job in order to end the conplacency and follow real dreams to live in accordance with my soul's desires.

Step one: learn meditation, check!
Step two: embark on epic roadtrip across USA, stopping at and exploring locations once thought I'd only congratulate others on visiting: Grand Canyon, Graceland, Niagara Falls, Mt Rushmore, Yosemite... In progress!
Step three: absorb all I can from those I meet along the way
Step four: return with sense of accomplishment, volunteer at animal shelter, immerse myself in 'service', art, and possibly open gourmet foods shop.

Another tidbit, I don't use drugs or smoke, and gave up drinking about 1.5 years ago. Having said that, I have absolutely no qualms if YOU drink or smoke, I actually enjoy the vicarious buzz :)

Something about my personality... first of all I find it rather uncomfortable to disclose anything personal in public forum, however on a website/service such as this it seems pertinent, yes?
Ok. So I tend to be a bit shy, however working diligently to change that, for what right do I have to learn about you if I cannot open myself up?! Ok then! So working on jumping to the person I can be 'once one gets to know me'; I definitely have a certain wit, I can be quite charming, I'm very sweet, and I'll probably make you laugh. I am also quite sensitive, and this is both good and bad- the good news is I'll always strive to make a good first impression, the bad news is that if my feelings get hurt I might get a little defensive, the good news is that I'll see fairly quickly the error in my way.....
Suddenly I'm recalling that Halloween episode of the Simpsons where Homer is buying Bart a Krusty doll for his birthday- This object is cursed! (That's bad.) But it comes with a free frogurt! (That's good!) The frogurt is also cursed! (That's bad.) But you get your choice of toppings! (That's good!) The toppings contain potassium benzoate! (...) That's bad. (Can I go now?)

Ok I'm done with this!!! Moving on :)

PHILOSOPHY

All the bad stuff Doesn't Matter if there's nothing I can do about it. Letting go and just being Glad to Be because there is beauty EVERYWHERE!! Life is a University and I am enrolled.

...That said, if there IS something I can do, then I do it. With regards to my veganism, it's what I feel is right For Me. However, if I'm a guest in someone's home then vegetarian is perfectly sufficient (ie. I don't ask questions! but will politely decline obvious meat items.)

Finally, if as your guest I discover that hasty packing has led to the forgetting of an essential something, all I will ask of you is directions to the nearest location wherefrom it may be procured!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Darjeeling Limited is probably my favorite movie of all time. Everything from the look of it, the soundtrack, the way it takes me back to India even if I had an entirely different experience there... Really don't spend much time watching movies or TV but I enjoy it when I make the time to do so.

Music: ALL KINDS. seriously. from noise to indie to electro to hip hop to 90s alternative 80s glam rock 70s stadium rock 60s 50s ... i mean seriously, ALL of it.

Books: love David Sedaris, Kerouac & Bukowski, Rushdie, Salinger...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took a trip to India last year. First time leaving the USA (well, besides Mexico, I do live in So CAL after all) Stepping off the plane and entering the Indian air was like waking up to the planet for the first time.
