About Me

Hey!
I'm Jill and I'm 22 years old.
I lived in the great city of Cologne, Germany the first 11 years of my life and then moved to Waldshut, a very small town close to the Swiss boarder (black forest).
After I took one year of break after my graduation, I started studying biology last semester and for that decided to come back to the beautiful Cologne!

I LOVE to travel and meet new people. Most of my traveling trips are very spontaneous which I think makes it even more exciting and fun.
Since I'm still pretty young I've sadly not been to as many places as I wish I've been, but I'm working on that and I can't wait to see all those terrific places and meet all those great people.
Like you probably already noticed I'm very open minded and one of my favorite things is just to hear other people's stories about what they've experienced traveling or how different their culture is.
I also like to talk a lot, so you'll probably have to hear my stories too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well I think there's not much more awesome than having people all around the world you can visit, hang out with and share your stories with.
I love to meet new people, get to know other cultures and get inspired by interesting characters and stories. The couchsurfing experiences I have made so far were beyond great and I hope I will continue to have great experiences through couchsurfing.

Interests

I actually have many different kinds of interests.
First of all I love to do sports. I played soccer for a very long time which I sadly had to quit a couple of weeks ago because of work and my upcoming travels, but I will definitely go back to it as soon as I'll go to College.
Also I love swimming! I try to do it wherever, whenever I can. It's my favorite sport, I don't really do it professionally or anything, I just have a lot of fun doing it.

I've played the flute several years and also play the piano. I'm way better at playing the flute than playing the piano because it's only been a few years I've played piano for so far. BUT I think piano is way more fun. I hope to learn to play the guitar pretty soon, because there's no better instrument than the guitar when sitting around a bonfire, having a great time with friends.

I love to hang out with friends and go on adventures. It doesn't matter if it's day or night, we always have a great time! I enjoy exploring a city's nightlife with all their bars and clubs but sometimes I also just enjoy a movie night.

Aaand like I've mentioned before, one of my probably favorite interests is traveling. Sadly, I don't know as many languages as I wish I'd know. But I'm working on that! I can't really sit around and not do much, there's always stuff I want to see or do. I feel like if I'm not constantly going somewhere to meet new people and get to know new places I'm definitely missing something!

Music, Movies, and Books

There's almost all kinds of music, movies and books I like!
I usually watch shows or series more than movies, but I also enjoy a good movie once in a while.
I also read all different kinds of things, even including philosophical books. (there are very good ones).
What music I like always depends on what I'm doing, where I am and what time of the day. I listen to almost everything from Jack Johnson to Norah Jones, to Old School Hip Hop like OutKast to whatever you can dance to or sing to or just have a great time to.

Spending one year in the U.S.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I can share are great experiences, stories about my culture, my country and my life. I like to share my knowledge about European cooking too. And of course who ever wants to learn German or improve their English, I'm always excited to share!
I just want to have a great time and want to make a difference in other people's lives.
