We are Marie and Jim, a young couple from Belgium.

Marie studied psychology of work and worked as an employer branding specialist whereas I am bio engineer who graduated in June

After our studies, we are now travelling to see what life is like around the globe.
After exploring the map, we came to the conclusion that Australia is the destination which matches the most with our expectations: beautiful places, diversity of landscapes, welcoming people and nice mentality.
Then, we wanted to come closer to a completely different culture while staying close to nature and that is why we are on the way to Sumatra!

Our greatest common point is our passion and love for animals and nature. I have always lived in a farm with many horses, sheep and dogs. Our positive attitude, calm and empathy help us connect with animals but also with people. 

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are looking for adventure, beautiful places, but also meeting nice people. Joining the couchsurfing community is for us a great opportunity to meet local people and develop new skills.

Music: I like indie rock but also more classical rock. I also love getting lost in a post-rock music. But most of all I am a live music lover.

Books: I love the beat generation style. I also dig anything science focused.

Movies: Anything non super-hero. I like learning new things while following a story.
