Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
I want to make the best of my life: travelling is one way to do so.
ABOUT ME
I am a 26-year-old guy from Uruguay who's presently living in Montevideo, Uruguay. I lived in Lille and in Burgundy (France) where I worked as an assistant Spanish teacher. I have recently obtained my degree in Communication Studies, and I'm still working as a teacher, but would love to be an International Affairs journalist. Travelling is one of my passions, it has completely opened my mind and broadened my horizons. Communicating with different people is one of my vital needs: I guess we all have a lot to learn from the diversity that makes this world a wonderful place to live. Every chat you have with the people you meet in every place you visit teaches you a lot. The sum of all those experiences and anecdotes you collect make you a different person. Cultural exchange gives you a knowledge of life that no school or university will give you. Well, that's my main motivation to travel and meet people. And that's why I've made my CS profile!
PHILOSOPHY
In fact I would include here a lot of things I've already written and that I don't want to repeat because it would make this profile sound quite boring. I guess some kind of divisions are quite a relative thing, the exercise of building up this profile is a proof of it.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have this profile since September 2010, but I haven't used it so much. I didn't know what to write in my profile to be honest. I can't currently offer a couch, as I'm living at my parents' place right now, but I can show my city and offer a beer to whoever comes here and wants me to do it. I hope when I get a place on my own I'll be able to host as many couchsurfers as I can.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't done CouchSurfing before, I'm really interested in living such an experience soon. I've stayed in friends-of-friends' houses in most of my trips, but as I said haven't done PROPER CS before. When I have my own place, I'll be more than pleased to share it along with my time with people from all around the world.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
It's hard to list all the stuff I like. I have quite eclectic likes, so it can be embarrassing as well to list them all! I must say my preferences can be quite camp at times...
Books (writers): Hesse, Pier Vittorio Tondelli, Roberto Arlt, Roberto Bolaño, Roald Dahl, etc.
Films (directors): Kaurismaki, Tarantino, Almodóvar, Alex de la Iglesia, Argentinian cinema, Uruguayan cinema, Fellini, Hitchcock, etc.
Music: Easy-listening music, Chanson, Italian oldies, Tango, Pop.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
The most amazing thing I've done or seen is the next one I'll do! We must not lose our capacity to get amazed about the things we do or see.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I can teach a bit of the languages I know, especially Spanish, which is my mother tongue.
I also know how to do "dulce de leche", the typical caramel spread we use in my region... I learnt how to cook it, not finding it in the supermarket in France, and I'm really excited about it. So excited that I want to teach everybody how did I do to feel a little like at home when I was homesick!
