About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience as much as possible

ABOUT ME

I am 25, and have been living in Ithaca NY for the past 4 years. I work for the Ithaca Beer Company, Cornell Women's Basketball team, and the Sports School at Cornell, but am not in a rush to start a life long career. Right now it is just about having fun and having new experiences that I will remember forever. I am super easy going and can't remember the last time something actually made me mad.

PHILOSOPHY

Ride the wave!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't had a couch for a while but I do now! I am happy to host, or just so someone around Ithaca.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had any couch suffers of my own yet, but my friends have hosted a ton! Every time the people that stayed with them were amazing and fun to meet and hangout with. The first time I have surfed was in Philly and it was one of the coolest experiences ever. The last night I was there I went out for drinks with my host, his girlfriend was hosting a guy from South Korea, and one of their friends was hosting a guy from Ireland, so it was really amazing to have all these different people from different backgrounds, and different countries hanging out all thanks to couch surfing!

Interests

I love basketball and beer! I was never really an athlete, but for some reason love basketball. I have been working for the Cornell Women's basketball team for four years and I love it! I also really love beer and my curiosity about beer and breweries has led to me working for the Ithaca Beer Company. Growing up I took every art class I could in high school and took oil painting classes outside of school. Art was always more of a hobby for me so when the ideas in my head became to complicated to put on paper or canvas I discovered photography. I like shooting in black and white and on a film camera. Music, Movies, and Books

I really love movies, my last year of college two of my roommates and I watched three to four movies a week, usually trying to see movies we had never seen before. Some of my favorite directors are Richard Linklater, and Wes Anderson. I also like sports movies like Hoosiers and The Natural and love James Bond movies especially with Sean Coonery as the "original James Bond." And it is always good to laugh with movies like Anchor Man and Step Brothers.

Musically I like mostly classic rock, The Beatles, The Who, Neil Young,. If I had to pick a favorite band I would say U2! But I am also really like a lot of newer indie bands like MGMT and Arcade Fire.

As for books I again like sports books. The Breaks of the Game by David Halberstam, is the best sports book I have ever read! I highly recommend it if you have any interest in the NBA and/or the inner workings of a pro basketball team. My favorite writer is Bill Simmons who is the editor in chief of Grantland.com, he combines sports, pop culture, and his own experiences in a way that makes his super long columns seem to fly by. I am also a huge Jack Kerouac fan On the Road might be my favorite book of all time and makes me want to go on a never ending adventure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I do amazing things every day! Haha

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you more than you would want to know about the NBA and beer! I can share a ton of beer, I literally have an unlimited supply of delicious craft beer! I am open to learning anything, if I could go to school forever and and just keep gaining knowledge I would.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Depending on how I am traveling I can share lots of Ithaca Beer! I am also a really a good cook and would be more than happy to share a homemade meal with anyone who hosts me.
