About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel Crazy and Enjoy Life

ABOUT ME

I'm Michael, I'm 23 and have joined couch surfing at the urging of a travel companion of mine, Stelth. I'm a fairly normal guy, people sometimes tell me I am unlike anyone else they know, but I think they are lying. I like rock, indie, and lo-fi music mostly. I'm always up for meeting new people and going on new adventures. I just wish trainhopping didn't take some much out of you! I just recently moved back to Fort Collins from San Francisco.

PHILOSOPHY

"Do on to others as you would have them do, so that when we die, you'll have golden boy peanuts waiting in the afterlife for you." - The Mountain Goats

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed around 10 people's couches and have never really had a bad experience. I find that when couchsurfing, you become friends with people who you would otherwise never have bothered becoming friends with.

Interests

I'm interested in music, movies, stories, girls, politics, the radio, sports, and food.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Led Zepplein, Pavement, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Lemonheads, Pink Floyd, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Mountain Goats, Store Bought Cool, The Meat Puppets, and my own band, Michael and the G2s.

Movies: 28 Days Later, Mystery Science Theater 3000 the Movie, The Life Aquatic, Ghostbusters

Books: Anything that is written by Chuck Klosterman. Siddhartha, comics, Notes from Underground, John Hodgmen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Other than Space Jesus, I thought sneaking into a Prairie Home Companion and sitting 20 feet from the stage at a show that sold out in 2 minutes was pretty cool. Maybe that's not the coolest thing in the whole wide world, but its just the first think I thought of, besides Space Jesus.

UPDATE from several years later: Well, Space Jesus is still pretty high on my list, but I've also road trains across the country, thumbed by way back, slept next to a river (which is so much cooler than it sounds), made some friends and lived some life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am up to learn anything, but feel like I have very little to teach other than maybe about couchsurfing, in case the person is new. However, I am also always willing to share music with people, introduce them to new bands and the like.
