One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I left America for a few months in 2018 and traveled from Scotland to Portugal, encountering all kinds of people, places, and adventures along the way. Ask me about some of them!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an inquisitive guy, always asking questions and rarely experiencing something without considering its implications or more intricate possibilities. In conversation, I like to find a new spin on a well-known idea that can broaden my and others' perspectives. Hosting me and engaging in conversation with me may leave you with a different way of looking at something you thought you'd known for a while!
If you're looking to learn about music, I'm your guy! I don't mean that I’m an encyclopedic source of what artist released what song on what album in what year. What I can share is insight on the inner workings of music: the abstract but observable mechanisms of the music we like, why we feel what we feel when we hear it, what exactly we are hearing, the difference between hearing and listening, how to listen more deeply, and how to honor the intentions of the people who create the music for us.
I also am a music teacher, so in exchange for hosting I would gladly provide help with singing, saxophone, piano, clarinet, or songwriting/music theory!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a singer-songwriter, and my mission is to spread my music as much as I can. Sharing this side of me with people around the world sounds like an amazing way to make that happen. And if you're interested in learning about me, a great way to do that is through my music.
