About Me

From Alki to Zoka
(A summer poem flirting with A to Z)

April to August
Behold the spring and summer
Cold drinks
Delightful jazz
Encores after encores

Fancy the sun?
Get out to the Greens
Hop on a bike
Inching towards the ocean
Joyous breeze
Kites flying
Lovers kissing
Mondays become an old tale

Nowhere like this
One little earth
Playfully crafting four seasons
Quenching the thirst for variety
Refreshing your life

Spring and summer
Twin sisters
Unwinding the busy you
Voulez-vous dancer?
Wild yet wise,
Xenon singing with radon
Youthful mood resembling
Zephyr on the zenith

Random

What happened…. was totally random
No plans, plots or any signs
Not even a raindrop from the sky
Nothing

You tried to explain it, yelling at the valleys.
Yet do you hear the echoes? or mourning from the sea?
Silence were near, slowly approaching without footprints.
The colors faded away, crippling with fainted minds
Hollowed, together they made a perfect symphony.

Walking on the busy street, you searched for an answer
Maybe you’ll run into some strangers, random encounters
In their stories, you looked for clues.
Why not just drink some sympathies,
waking up drunkenly with apathies?

Engulfed by the emptiness, you questioned your existence.
You turned on the radio.
Jazz or metal, news or commercial?
Does it matter? You left before you knew it.
Maybe you’ll run into you someday.

What happened… was totally random
No traits, residues or aftermaths
Not even a dust.
Nothing

Touch

Poor or rich?
You tell me.
All I hear is silence.
No, I hear nothing but your smiles.
Slowly transcending into the void
I hold my breath.
What I see is beyond ____________

Odorless, the thing smells like water
And tastes like air
The rest is redundant

Picture it while you are walking down
this infinite corridor.
What do you see?
Spices after spices,
the flavors were history.

I keep chewing it into my imagination
Swimming out of the painful reality
The truth is
Nobody knows…
But every soul dives in
Until …. draught

Portland

I arrived at the Port
Land of opportunities
Neat streets, nice people
Cars flowing, birds flying, but
where am I going?
Pick a pedestrian
Ask for directions
Hope for some revelations
Turn left, walk three blocks,
you'll see...

Take the streetcar,
get off at Everett
Jimmy Mak's on your right
Hop on the bus
a paradise for writers
Poems after poems
Trivial is the destination

Up and coming artsy Alberta
Sabbath on Monday night
Quiet but colorful
Coffee tea house at the corner
Beautiful Gymsy Jazz
down to earth musicians
Thirst quenched
Temper cooled
Aggressiveness softened
Tune gradually faded out
Reality kicked in
And I headed to Belmont

For food.
