About Me

I'm an Ecologist by heart and by trade. I've worked in conservation and environmental planning for 7 years, my work has taken me around the world and across the UK. Currently I live and work in the UK and my work is entirely focused on the protection of UK and European protected species.

My other greatest passion aside from nature is music.

PHILOSOPHY

I treat other people as I would like them to treat me. I try to see the good in everyone and remember that we are all the way we are for a reason.
I'm very laid back and easy going.
I connect best with people that are driven and passionate about the things in their life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My couchsurfing experience started in California, continued in the Caribbean and now in the UK I spread the word and good intentions of couchsurfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

California, Hawaii and the Caribbean - 3 totally different experiences, many good stories to tell!

Interests

Ecology, wildlife, conservation, photography, socialising, sport, enjoying good food with good people. I have photographed wildlife around the world... in the Peruvian Amazon, the Great Rift Valley (Kenya), the Hawaiian Islands and the Australian outback.

Music, Movies, and Books

MASSIVE music fan! I listen to music every day, we can sit and listen to music for hours as far as I'm concerned! I have an incredibly eclectic mix of music ranging from soul and funk to electro-swing and drum and bass, to reggae and indie, and many more (to many to list!). I'm equally content kicking back listening to some acoustic folk, as I am jumping around to ska or raving to drum and bass, anything goes!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

being within touching distance of some of the world's most deadly snakes including Black Mamba, Amazon Bushmaster, Coral snake, Fer de Lance....
Trekked to Machu Picchu - the lost city of the Incas.
Watched in amazement as a fully grown adult leopard lazed in a tree in the Nakuru National Park, Kenya....Sitting in a quebrada drinking Cusquenas, only to later find out that the quebrada was a hotspot for Caiman!
Night dive with Pacific Manta Rays off the Kona Coast of the Big Island, Hawaii
Sailing a 100ft Charter sail boat in the Caribbean
Swimming with wild sea turtles
The list goes on...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you all about ecology if you are interested? or music?? photography?... or we can just kick back and have a beer, I'm happy either way!I love listening to people's stories and learning from them... knowledge is to be shared!
